Default Bonjour, Glamour!

Need some sparkling sounds from the right side of the velvet ropes? I suggest these:

Tom Jones: DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA - a surprising no-frills full lenght disco stormer from the 1979 album "Rescue Me". The folding sleeve of the lp is a hoot with the singer shot from a low angle, standing bare-chested over a female figure draped around his legs. Look at the front of him, that ain't no banana but could be lots of stuffed paper tissue, though.
Montreal Sound: LADY - a Barry Manilow/Dr. Buzzard soundalike from the "One More Time" lp. Again, the sleeve is something you don't see much these days, with a close-up of female lips about to go down on a thrusting mike, or something.
Dino Solera: THEME FOR A DREAM - a thumping Giorgio Moroder/Keith Forsey/Thor Baldusson etc. affair from 1977, a reworking of the French evergreen Jeux Interdits.
Disco Ettore: CONTAINER - La Bionda bros cataloque Munich stompers from 1977, with a typically nice violin sound
Tony Valor sounds Orch: LOVE HAS COME MY WAY - smooth classy hustler, a Jim Burgess mix on Paula label
Sahara: MISTER MISTER - extremely cheesy: "Mister don't touch my sister, touch me"
Jeannette: DON'T SAY GOODNIGHT TO A LADY OF SPAIN - from Ralph Siegel, the mastermind behind Dschinghis Khan
Tony Silvester: SOCA - Bob crewe/Street Talk-style semiorchestral soft disco from the Magic touch album, quite pretty
Mystic: DISCO LOVE AFFAIR - DD Sound/la Bionda-styled skipping euro girls plus those strings
Pharaoh: RAMSES - tasty Soul Dracula-like cheese
Martin Stevens: LOVE IS IN THE AIR - dramatically pianodriven instrumental version
Ray Daroughe: STEPPING OUT - why was this not a massive hit? strong soulful vocals over impeccable rhythm & orchestra
Jean Mathew: KEEP ON ROLLING - like above
Michael Collins: GET UP GIDDYUP - silly title but an excellent melodic pop disco track
Canymed: IT MAKES ME HIGHER - canymed sounds like a medicin for some nasty illness but this is good powerful eurodisco and the sound quality of the 12" is booming
The Flying tigers. SPITFIRE - fun Banzaii/Bimbo Jet-style early stuff with, airplane sound effects, jolly girl chorus and more of those strings
