Went to the local, once-a-season record show today. Haven't been to one in years, because the last time I was there, it was all overpriced Led Zeppelin records and bootleg Aerosmith concert recordings. Anyway, I thought I'd check it out this time around. Sure enough, most of the dealers were selling silly "collectables", or had bins and bins of common-as-dirt, scratched-up rock albums that they somehow figured they'd be able to unload the show. After half an hour of fighting the crowds and checking out dozens of vendors, I hit the jackpot at the very back of the room. One vendor who seemed to specialize in Japanese and Hungarian imports had four crates of disco; all of it half price! Here's what I walked out with:

THP Orchestra: Fightin' On The Side Of Love, promo 12" -- This is an early release from them and is very rare.

Amanda Lear: Follow Me (Wally MacDonald mix)/Enigma, 12" on yellow vinyl -- this is an odd one. It's a Canadian copy, but it's on IGM, which I thought never had dedicated distributin in Canada (most of their releases were picked up by CBS). And I've seen two other copies of this record on CBS... so I don't know what gives here.

Sex O'Clock USA: Baby Come On/You're My Man, 12"

D.D. Sound: Burning Love, 12"

Melba Moore: You Stepped Into My Life/There's No Other Like You, promo 12"

The Heart And Soul Orchestra: Love In C Minor, 12"

Sylvia: Automatic Lover/Stop Boy, 12" UPDATE: I was hoping this would be a less cheesy version of the classic Dee D. Jackson track... but it's worse! The production is terrible, it still has that "I AM YOUR AUTOMATIC LOVER" voice, and worst of all, THIS WOMAN CAN'T SING HER WAY OUT OF A WET PAPER BAG!! GODDAMN this is DREADFUL! This makes Caroline Bernier sound like a first-class diva!!

Black Light Orchestra: Touch Me, Take me, 12"

Strange Passion: Desire, 12" -- produced by Tony Green

Space: Magic Fly/Tango In Space, 12"

Caroline Bernier: Secret Agent Love, 12"

Marvin Hamlisch: Bond '77/The James Bond Theme, 12"

C.J. & Co: Devil's Gun, LP

Chocolat's: The Kings Of Clubs, LP -- this is the version on Able... wasn't the US version remixed by Tom Moulton?

Munich Machine: s/t, LP

Funk Machine: s/t, 12"

Barry White: It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me/I Never Thought I'd Fall In Love With You, 12"

Love And Kisses: s/t, UK LP (my fourth copy of this masterpiece!)

Jimmy "Bo" Horne: Spank/I Wanna Go Home With You, 12"

Tony Green: I Am A Fool, 12" -- (For trying to get Caroline Bernier to sing?)

Lautrec: Hit The Road, Jack, 12"

McLane Explosion: Pulstar, LP

The Atlanta Disco Band: Bad Luck, LP

Mimi: Shaking, 12"

Black Star: s/t, 12" -- Produced by Tony Green

Maze: s/t, LP

Machine: There But For The Grace Of God Go I/Get Your Body Ready, 12"

Kebekelektrik: Journey Into Love, 12" -- at last, I've found it!

Giorgio Moroder: Chase, 12" -- never thought I'd see this one...

All this for about $85 Cnd. Ahh, there's nothing like a good score...
