| I ask cuz I was looking for Angelina (which is I think Cerrone 6?) and finally ordered a copy from Amazon which had it and the following album PANIC on one disc. It arrived and I have to say it was cheap and the sound is good (I think it's from source or a CD source, not vinyl) but the packaging is from Russia which makes me think it's a bootleg like most disco from Russia (though it sounds better than past Russian bootlegs I've had). The actual CD label is a full on Ariola Records reproduction which is fancier than most I've had (no CD-R either). Has Angelina been officially remastered/released? The other Cerrone discs I have are the Unidisc releases of Supernature and Golden Touch. Supernature sounds great, but Golden Touch from Unidisc has a bad mastering problem--the sound level goes up and down throughout my favorite track, to a distracting level. I finally got a later remaster of this album from another label which has 100% better sound (and a black cover, the Unidisc is white). Also, I see Cerrone has had two new CDs in the past few years--are they goodat all? I lvst interestin his music for a while, but I loved his return to old style disco, Hysteria that cameout around 2005. Last edited by Bernie; November 19th, 2009 at 05:59 PM. Reason: url |

| If there are 2 LPs on one CD then that is probably a Russian bootleg (I'm not aware of 'official' '2 on 1' Cerrone CDs); I have one myself & they do look good with the faithful 'reproduction' labels & not-bad sound quality but they are not official. I know what you mean about the Unidisc CDs; I have 'You Are The One' on Unidisc & the sound is faulty on a couple of tracks, whereas the Malligator CDs have a fabulous sound quality IMO so stick to those ones if you can.

| "Angelina" is "Cerrone V". All original albums from I to IX were available on French cd's (Malligator). The "Brigade mondaine" soundtracks, the two live albums, "Trippin' on the moon" (12"), "Phonic" and "Freak Connection" weren't available on cd. |

Russian-made CDs are almost always bootlegs. The only exception to this that I know of is the Lilith label, but they'd doing mostly German prog-rock releases. They are simply repackaged rips of other CDs. While some would argue that they can provide a service by unofficially reissuing out-of-print discs, I say why pay for stolen goods? You may as well download it from a P2P service if there's no legit way to get it. FWIW, the Unidisc CD of Cerrone VI plays the last track at a different speed than the original Malligator LP. I haven't heard the Malligator CD to compare. http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...reative=390957 Last edited by Bernie; November 19th, 2009 at 06:00 PM. Reason: url |

| I've also bought these 2 Lps on 1 CD from Russia - found them in a 2nd hand store in Montreal. The 3 I got (Love in C minor/Cerrone's paradise,You are the one/Back Track,Your love survived/Where are you now) - sound OK. Not extraordinary but I'm glad to have them on CD. My copy of Angelina is the Unidisc release. It's always been one of my favorite Cerrone album but my original Lp sounded awful. The sound level on the Canadian pressing was so low - it was ridiculous. http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.ht...reative=390957

| Thanks for all your help. Panic, is such a strange album I'm not quite sure if I like it or not. Also my CD has a skip in the drums track (another sign its a bootleg, I checked the CD, it's not scratched but the metal where the skip is is uneven, there'sa bump built into it) but luckily no skips during Angelina which is goodcuz that's what I wanted (Cerrone 3-5 are my faves of his by far--I know many hardcore disco fansl ove the early albums and lose interest after 3, but not for me) I looked for Angelina/Cerrone IV online but it seems to be out of print in any official versions--they sell for 90+ dollars. Does anyone know if it's in print anywhere? I have the Unidisc, and later superior Malligator releases for both 3 and 4 and wouldn't mind 5 too... No one has any thoughts on his modern albums Love Ritual or Celebrate? Am I the onlyone who loved his return to form with Hysteria? |

If you ask most British funk fans what is their fave Cerrone LP they will usually say 'VII/ You Are The One' (the one featuring Jocelyn Brown)- he's done something for everyone over 33 years hasn't he?

I really liked his 'Human Nature' LP from '95 (especially 'Mercy')- this was his return to dance music in the modern 'house' genre & I think this is what he's best at. I don't really like his attempts at rock in the 80s & early 90s, not because I hate rock 'cos some rock's really good, it's just that i don't think he's very good at that genre!

I really don't know his 80s work. I have a 12" single I found at the Salvation Army of Trippin oin the Moon with Claudja Barry and love it--one side is his version another is a different production of it. And I know some of the stuff on his Remixed CD (anyone knwo where the Laura Branigan track Heart of Me on that comes from??) I'm more into Euro disco than funk though... I'll have to hear Human Nature--I LOVED Hysteria from '92 which wasn't remotely rock IMHO but a throwback to his late 70s albums (the great diva anthem Love on the Dancefloor is based on my fave of his, Look for Love) His new albums ar epretty pricey on amazon though... |

| 'Heart of Me' featuring Laura Branigan is from his '89 LP 'Way In' which I think is easily his worst LP as it's his attempt at west coast soft rock (hence the cover where Cerrone's standing in L.A.). The dance remix of 'Heart Of Me' from the 'Best' CD is however rather good. I think you'll find 'Hysteria' came out in '96; I'm sure it was the follow-up to 'Human Nature' - both were (thankfully) a return to dance music for him.
