Right when the break starts, (ie) Sexyyyyy!! you start at around the 3:25 minute mark - Got My Mind Made Up - Instant Funk - ride it in and the female vocal of "Say What" hits, then you let it go at "Got My Mind Made Up" It is a short mix but very effective, and you will keep the WOOOOOOOOO!

YouTube - Instant funk - I got My Mind Made Up (1977)

Who is next?

Elbowed my way into the booth again...
When you reach beat one of the melodic "You got to push it to me baby..etc" bit, start laying on "Don't Stop The Music" by the Bombers from beat one, gently pitched into rhythm, with most of the oncoming track's bass off. While the Instant guys sing reduce their bass and highs and bring on the Bombers bass until the end of Instant's melodic part, by which you'll have the Bombers playing full throttle and the I.F's all but faded away. During the oriental sounding instrumental segment of the Bombers, lay the "dance!" shouts & some of the bass of "Hypnodance" by Who's Who over it for extra effect. You'll have the students, the hipsters and the rest of the pork hat crowd going aaah!

I am lovin it!!! Jussik slided in the Bombers, working the mix!!
Just let the vocal intro go by and start from the first beat, start the mix at about the 4 minute mark on the Bombers and just let them ride, a slight pitch is needed to perfect the mix.

In the middle of the last song I will cut in Brass Construction - Got Myself Together, blending in the beginning the bass and horns as it kicks into gear.

Is that "Movin' On" by Brass Construction? ("Got myself together, yeah.... gonna get hiiiiiigh..... then I'm movin' on!)

If so, once it gets toward the end and goes into that funky synthesizer noodling I'd mix it into "Far Out" by Crown Heights affair, somewhere toward the end where the instrumentals have a similar groove to them, then cut it back toward the begining for the song.

Brian

(And for DJRAZ, how about blending "Long Train Running" into Chicago's "I'm A Man" for a mini "rock" set?)

I live this thread. I think I will try to get "Voyage of no return (Tom Moulton Mix)" by Bebu Silvetti Just because I played it recently and enjoyed it.
