Thumbs up Re: Dare to Mix - The Next DJ

Ok, the beat's moving fast, that sharp snare is standing out to my ears(or maybe it's just the screwdrivers talking....) so I'm thinkin' something with a heavy baseline, got it! (..lemme in!) at about 3:30 right after he says "this native love is restless, I'm just not satisfied", boom! the baseline comes in, work that pitch and drop the bass in Native, run it until the horn hit....

Don Ray - Got To Have Lovin'

uh oh, some chick on the floor just screamed "Cluuuubbb PooooocccHH!" and fainted-gotta go....I'm needed!

Divine? Don Ray? EXCELLENT choices as I am out on the floor dancing with some chicks, this floor is DENSE!

But waitaminute, got something I wanna play now, Don Ray is a bit too fast for this one so I am gonna pitch it VERY slightly slower, My next cut will be pitched a bit faster because before the song ends as it goes 'It's a shame to complain yadayada', I'm just gonna throw the Xfader to this in from the start, here it comes....

Jimmy Bo Horne - SPANK!

That bassline ROCKS! Crowd's goin' 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!' and I'm about to get out the booth and smoke this blunt, lol!

Here's a thought before I move on, we should rename this thread to 'Club Pooch and featured DJ's', after all, djdan DID start this cosa nostra and I'm LOVING it! What do you guys think? Anyways....

THAT'S WHAT I DO, FOR LOVIN' YOU, PUT YOU THROUGH SOME....OUCH!

Nice track! Coming through y'all! Step aside! Going to the booth! Don't these ladies know I'm the DJ too?

OK slammin' it in now, B.B. almost finished. Starting it from the beginning, doesn't really need any pitching, comes in natural, X-fader moving ever so slightly....

It's Cher - Take Me Home

You can actually hear the ladies from the booth singing the song while they're dancing to it, and they know all the lyrics! What a turn on! Having so much fun!

Hey djdan, glad you liked the idea of giving this club a name after you, I was drunk when I posted that but it felt like the right thing to mention at the time. And why not? All us DJ's are having such a good time here anyways so let's make it happen, right? Great escape! Here's 1/2 a blunt, you can finish it.

Dammit Scream, she was about to give me her #, now she's chanting at the top of her lungs "Take me home, Take me Hooommmee..." Back to the booth.... LUV this song...! so I'd wanna bring something in during the middle break, but it's sounding so good and the dance floor is just going crazy, I let it keep going, mess around with the effects, a little flanging, an echo here and there, then at about 5:40 when she starts singing "I wanna go home with you" I bring the fader up, run it for about 4 or 6 bars, dropping the bass on Cher, then taking her out right before they say...."We're Gonna Flyyyyy, Fly away...."

and "Club Pooch" is fine with me

Cloud One - Atmosphere Strut

alright DJ's ...Let's Go!

OK qdearl while you were mixing Cloud One in, I wrote that girl's cell number on my pad cause she told me she want's you bad, bummer for me! She told me to give it to you so here it is, folded up in this piece of paper. Go git her ya lucky bum, wish it was me! I got this booth now!

Got my album set to play, had to adjust the pitches, the bass is too low so playing w/the EQ, OK perfect. after about 5-6 minutes of play during a breakbeat I drop it in....

Poussez! - Come On & Do It To Me

Where'd you learn to funk like that? C'est BON!

Crowd's goin' YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! Not just for this song, most of them found out the Yankees won the World Series! I fainted! Only took them 9 years and I'm a diehard Yankee fan! Now everybody's in Club Pooch rockin' the house and they're not leaving anytime soon, GOTTA LOVE IT!

So, Earl, what kind of cologne are you wearing? I want some!!!

So Scream gets the hook on the floor and gets them to wiggle. Nice choice, so I will fillow with "FunFun" Color my Love.
Piece of cake mix, just ride the intro over the break and let them rip. WHOA< check out the four chicks in front of the booth going nuts! There goes the big WWOOOOO from the crowd. Well I know where I am going now.

While you 4 lucky guys are entertaining the Layyydeeeez in their sprayed on shiny hot pants and glittery boob tubes I'm gonna sneak into the booth from far field. I considered keeping it on an Italo Disco theme with 'Slice Me Nice' by Fancy, which would have mixed in beautifully.

But you guys are all having a Smooch in Club Pooch and I'm the only one who hasn't picked up a cute chick yet. So I'm gonna get back to a bit of classic disco with Melba Moore.... Pick Me Up I'll dance

YouTube - Melba Moore - Pick Me Up I'll Dance ( Disco 1978 )

PS. Do any of these lovely girls have a cute friend? I'm feeling kinda lonely up here.

Yes we like to chat with the ladies Old Disco DJ. But you do not have to sneek in the booth, it is always open for you.
Earl is getting the most hits from the chicks, Scream and I keep running outside to burn one, so we lose alot of the babes to Earl.

So that is a great choice to keep the girls shaking on the floor. I am glad you chose that Melba tune. I will follow it with
Gayle Adams - "Your Love Is A Life Saver" when Melba breaks, start this smash from the first beat of intro and let them ride slowly rising the volume on Gayle, bring them even volume at around the second frame intro and start to fade Melba. Do hear them starting to scream?!?!?!? Now pull the mix when the horns break in at arond 40 seconds. OOOHHH, look at the floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YouTube - GAYLE ADAMS Your love is a life saver extended club mix

Excuse me Mary, would you care to chat with my friend Disco DJ? Sure you can look under his Kilt!

Um, least y'all forgot, I gave QD that girl's number, she was BEGGIN' me! Still jealous cause she was FIRE! Didn't have to do it though but since he and I are Jersey boys I figured, well, now he owes me a favor! LOL!

Anyhows, back to tha matter at hand, here's MY next mix!

All I'm gonna do here is just throw it in from the start, since Gayle Adams' outro is just now erupting, we need a little different flavor here, so tell me guys if you're feeling this one....

Patrick Juvet - I Love America

This song makes me proud to be a Nuyorican! 2009 was a good year and it's not over yet! OMG the crowd loves this!

Hey Pooch! I see you from the booth talking to my girl w/the red dress! Hands off! She saw me mixing 1st! You're slick huh? Guess that's how we do in Club Pooch.
