I like Marvin Hamlisch! (though I must confess I'd never heard of Wayne Newtron ) I'm sure I've got a disco record somewhere that Marvin Hamlisch wrote or co-wrote but can't think for the life of me what it is at the moment.

No, sorry that's not it. It wasn't anything he did as an artist, it's something he wrote, maybe with Carol Bayer Sager or someone? I haven't got the inclination to go rummaging through my collection for hours... Haven't got the time as I've got to get on with a hypothetical experiment into the effects of aggression on television for my Psychology course assignment (studying form home), plus I've just burned something I was cooking so I feel another bad mood coming on! (it's my age )

He was behind They're playing our song on Broadway.That's the one he co-wrote with Carol Bayer Sager.The song was also remade in 1979 by Tony Orlando (on Casablanca-no less) and also by Dante's Inferno.

I recently put together some 'camp revamp tracks of 1979' CDs & I featured that track so I'm annoyed that i couldn't think of it.
