Default Record Pools

When disco first starting getting popular in the clubs in the early 1970's and throughout the 70's, record pool's were created, and flourished, to assist DJ's in obtaining the latest and obscure vinyl releases. I know this may sound like a dumb question, but do record pools still exist? I know vinyl's not manufactured anywhere like it use to be, but do they deal in CD's, vinyl, MP3's, or what would they deal in now? Or has the concept of a record pool died?

Yes, they now exist on Web-Sites whereas you can listen to, and download music onto a CD for a small membership fee!!! I can't think of any at the moment, but you can go to DJ Tony Humphries OrangeLemon web-site, and it should give you some links to some, if it doesn't have one itself!!!

I miss Record Pools because, although I've been a DJ since '76, when I graduated High School and joined the Navy in '78, Record Pools are what kept me up to speed on what was happening until I got out of the Navy in '82!

It also looks cool to other Cats when they look into your crates, and see a bunch of PROMOTIONAL COPY records in them!!!

Hey CDNBOB, I've just done a little research for you. Forget about DJ Tony Humphries OrangeLemon web-site, because it's no longer in existance.

He's got a new one called: www.tonyrecords.net . You can go there and sample some stuff, and download stuff for $3.99. If I come across anymore sites, I'll let you know!!!
