Most overlooked albums

I've come to realize that many of my all time favorite albums were largely unnoticed by the consumers when they came out and many of them have never been rerelased on CD.
Sadly, most of these can be found in the bargain bins today.
I really believe these albums deserve some credit today. That's why they deserve a mention in case some of you missed out on them when they first arrived.
Albums in question are:

James D-Train Williams - "In Your Eyes" (CBS, 1988).
- the last thing he did on a major label, this release sunk without a trace. I think it's the best he ever did. It's absolutely bursting with great uptempo dance tracks like "Smile" and "Order in The House" as well as some beautiful ballads such as "Child Of Love" and "My Friend"
People rate the old Prelude stuff very higly (and deservedly so) but "In Your Eyes" is worth every penny if you can find it.

Sugarfoot - "Sugar Kiss" (Warner Bros., 1985)
After BoardWalk Records folded, Leroy Bonner did this album. A great release and produced by Roger Troutman, It surpassed most of the stuff Roger ever got involved in. This album is really worth hunting for!

L.T.D. - "Love Magic" (A&M, 1981)
Many thought Jeffrey Osbourne leaving the band would kill the group. Of Course it did but they managed to put out this album before it happened....And what a fine piece of work it is - even without his distinct vocals. "Burnin' Hot", "Kickin' Back" & "Stay On The One" are three of the funkiest jams ever created & producer Michael Stokes (of Creative Source fame) was in top form on this one.

I'm sure there are many other albums that deserve a mention in this thread.

I love that LTD track Kickin Back. Good one! Those Lps all sound really interesting!

All of you know (and love I hope) The Beat Goes On by Ripple on Salsoul, but how many of you are familiar with the LP Sons Of The Gods, from which that classic dance single came? The title track is an excellent jazz funk reworking of the Charles Earland original and there are some great driving rhythms and guitar and keyboard solos to be heard. A real left-fielder! The LP also has a great Blaxploitation track - Do What You Wanna Do on it. And finally - a couple of tasty ballads!

Definitely not a one track album!

I just added a comment on the "Ohio Players" thread today... of course I forgot to put O-H-I-O as one of my favorites :( .... anyways that Sugarfoot LP sounds like it's worth looking out for. What is the best cut on that LP?

Efunk: it's not an easy task to pick out the best track, the album is almost perfect! if I have to I'd say either the upbeat "Kiss" (not the prince song) or the more midtempo "I Will Be Your Star" which has hints of "Computer Love" by Zapp.
There's also a "Fire '85" on the album but the original is still better.
