| A new movie FUNKYTOWN a 7 million dollars budget movie will be produced starting march 2009. This movie is about Tino and Tina living the incredible disco nightlife scene that Montreal went through the late 70's. The end of the movie will cover the decline of this culture and the result of drug / alcohol abuse. Some famous local people like Alain Montpetit (who did Voltaire - Dracula Disco & CKMF radio DJ) and Douglas "Coco" Leopold (CKMF radio DJ) will be featured. The famous "Limelight" disco club will be revived for the making of the movie. Patrick Huard will one of the main actors of this movie to be produced by Daniel Roby. Wishing them best great success. For those unaware, Alain Montpetit got better known in the US when NYPD concluded by DNA evidence that he killed a Canadian top model in a Manhattan Studio 20 years earlier (1980). Montpetit never got accused since he died of overdose in a motel room of Washington in the mid 80's.

| Today in the news - they made a big deal out of the fact that Montreal played a major part in disco's history. Considering that Patrick Huard is a major star here - the movie will receive a lot of press. Shooting starts in March and rumor has it that Huard's character is loosely based on Alain Montpetit. Can't wait to see this film.

| It'll be in french...but then again Patrick Huard's film "Bon Cop Bad Cop" was a bilingual affair and it did semi-well in the rest of Canada so maybe there'll be a english-dubbed version included on the DVD. Shooting starts this summer.Rumor has it that Montreal's legendary discotheque 1234 will be featured in the film.More info as soon as we get any...I'm on the lookout.
