If you refer to original issues, it is legend (as far as I know)!
If you refer to reissues yes it exists
If you refer to covers, the most famos one is by Kinkina from the early 80s

Since the song came out around 1972 I know there would be no original 12" single. It is strange to listen to this song, because it sounds like it belongs in 1978, which by then had a whole different style. I was just wondering if anybody took the (original) song and remixed it more lengthy on a 12" single?

Is this song by Kinkina (ooh, I like the name) a remake? How does it sound in comparison? Is it only available in Europe?

The KINKINA 12" was available in the US too, on Profile PRO 7008 from 1982

Default difficult to find

I wonder if some of those obscure cuts on the Saturday Night Fever were produced as original 12" singles, such as Manhattan Skyline, or K-Jee by MFSB?

Regarding hard-to-find records, I was searching for Tramaine Hawkins "The Search Is Over" album for ten years.
I finally tracked it down, payed truckloads of money for a copy only to realize that it now (about 6 months after I bought it) suddenly can be found in almost every 2nd hand record store in copenhagen for a ridicoulusly low price.

Hate when that happens. :(

Here are the tracks from the soundtrack that were pressed on 12" that I am aware of:

David Shire - Manhattan Skyline: RSO promo 12" 1978 (flip side is Shadow Dancing by Andy Gibb)
Walter Murphy - A Fifth of Beethoven: Private Stock commercial 12" 1976
Ralph MacDonald - Calypso Breakdown: TK Disco commercial 12" 1977
Kool & the Gang - Open Sesame: DeLite commercial 12" 1976
Trammps - Disco Inferno: Atlantic promo 12" 1978

In addition there was a promo only Saturday Night Fever 12" which had remixed and extended versions of Staying Alive, Night Fever, If I Can't Have You, More Than A Woman and You Should Be Dancing... (which reminds me that You Should Be Dancing first came out on on two different RSO 12" promo pressings in 1976).

I don't believe that K-Jee was ever pressed on 12".

Default Difficult to Find Disco Records.

:D I was in a quiet market town just outside of London the other day trying to kill some time and popped into a charity shop for a browse thru the 2nd hand records ( all the usual stuff like Perry Como, Andy Williams, Tijuana Brass).

However, I was amazed to find a 12" copy of Francine McGee - Delerium for just 75p! I also purchased Carrie Lucas - Street Corner Symphony 12" :-? for the same amount and 12" Cerrone - Supernature, with a good B side.

Spurred on by this I went into another nearby town and on a market stall found Candido - Jingo/Dancin & Prancin 12" on Excaliber for £1 and a Sheila B Devotion LP in excellent condition again for only £1.

The message is get down to the Boot Sales and Charity shops cos you dont know what u might find!

'You Know How To Love Me' was a big record in the UK and is still fairly easy to find on British 12".

Well I'm still after this early funk 45:

Bobby Sax & The New Messiah - Out House 73 1973

Heheheh I know an Out House is an outdoor portable toilet or what is referred in Australia as a dunnycan or a thunderbox but I taped this song off an internet funk radio station and it's very funky so I would KILL to get a hold of this 45.

It took me 15 years or more to find the LP by Giorgio, "From Here To Eternity." I used to hear it a lot on a Quebec City station (CKLM) at night in the seventies.

I finally found it on a visit to San Francisco in the Haight-Ashbury district in a consignment record store. I have it now and I will never let it go.
