It has gotta be "Goody Goody" by Vincent Montana featuring his daughter Denise Montana; I can't find that album, vinyl or CD, anywhere.

Well, you can't find the CD because none exists. At least, not legally.

There are a couple listed on GEMM right now, one for only $4.40.
It's not that rare... it was pressed on a major label, offered for sale in several countries, and there are probably several thousand copies in existence. I know I've come across it more than once. Compare that to small labels that only pressed a few hundred copies of a title, or promo mixes for which there may be only a few dozen in existence.

Some of the Disco records that are difficult to find here in UK
are...

Ann-Margret - Love Rush (Ocean)
Sabu - We're Gonna Rock
Vaughan Mason & Crew - We're Gonna Bump, Skate, Dance, Rock, Roll
Harry Thruman - Underwater
Nick Straker Band - A Little Bit Of Jazz
Debbie Jacobs - High On Your Love
K.I.D. - Don't Stop
Tantra - Hills of Katmandu
Amy Boulton - Do Me A Favor
Gino Soccio - Dancer (7")
Thelma Houston - If You Feel It (CD)
Doobie Gray - You Can Do It (Infinity)
Rhyze - Just How Sweet Is Your Love
Kano - Ajiha (Emergency)
Jimmy Ruffin - Tell Me What You Want

...and finally the most difficult disco record off all to find is...

Michael McClory - What You Wont Do For Me

Many UK Disco 12" singles were deleted only a few weeks after being released, making them very difficult to obtain, even today.

Just goes to show how regional these things can be. I've found several copies of "Love Rush" in my time, usually in the $1 bins. Vaughan Mason and Tantra are out there too, though not always cheap. And Gino Soccio records are relatively easy to find in Canada...

The following...

Ann-Margret - Love Rush (Ocean)
Sabu - We're Gonna Rock (Ocean)

...have just been added to iTunes but were never released as a single, or an album track in the UK. Sabu is still very difficult to get hold of as a Vinyl single.

Vaughan Mason & Crew - We're Gonna Bump, Skate, Dance, Rock, Roll
has just found its way as an expensive re-pressing in a vinyl record store in Birmingham. Awaiting further supplies. Can cost around £20.00 or more if supplied are replenished.

Harry Thruman - Underwater (Decca) UK & Nick Straker Band - A Little Bit Of Jazz (CBS) UK
Some old copies of these from the past may end up in some second hand record shop as rarities.

K.I.D. - Don't Stop...can be found on a CD Album Nervous Does...Disco...

Tantra - Hills of Katmandu was released as a vinyl single as a 12" & 7" on the Automatic label in 1981 in UK for a very short time. Double Album released in USA on (Importe 12)

Amy Boulton - Do Me A Favor ...Released in Italy and USA on (Importe 12)

Thelma Houston - If You Feel It (RCA) UK ...was only released as a 7" single in UK in 1981 but never released on a CD, (album or single)

Doobie Gray - You Can Do It (Infinity)
Then Infinity label became discontinued only after a few reorded hits as all the catalogue of this label all went to (MCA)

Rhyze - Just How Sweet Is Your Love was released on (Epic) in UK 12" & 7" again only for a short time. (SAM) in USA

Kano - Ajiha (Emergency) in USA. (Unidisc) in Canada
I'm Ready & Its a War were never released in UK
Although Kano had a minor hit on Epic label with "Another Chance" in UK

Gino Soccio - Dancer was the only single ever to be released here in UK
There was an Album and 12" single but only Dancer was ever available in UK (Warner Bros)

...and again, still the most difficult disco record off all to find is...

Michael McClory - What You Wont Do For Me (Label - cant remember....??)
Still at large but nowhere to be found, unless I've got the Title and Artist wrong or mixed up. Might be listed in Billboard Disco Charts 1980/81

when people refer to certain recordings as being hard to find, I never am sure if they're referring to the recordings on vinyl, or CD. And sometimes a recording's availability seems to depend on where you look, and where you live. I've seen the Ann Margret and Paul Sabu recordings advertised recently in CD form on getdisconnected, and I've seen Tantra's "The Double Album" on CD in my area, but only as a very expensive import.

I have 2 copies however, a German Hansa label version which is edited (cuts out some of the intro) and runs to approx 5 mins+ and a full length 7min version which was pressed in mid 1980's on a label who's name escapes me, something like Unidisc. Believe there's also a 12 inch on sirocco label which is a double A side featuring both "From East ot West" and "Souveniers".
Voyage's "Special Instrumental" (Sirocco Records France #SI 6001, early 80s) (Part 1) (is there a part 2 ?) is very rare i guess. This Lp contains only the instrumental versions of Voyage's disco tracks. Many of them were never released, and only 2000 were ever pressed....

Love to get my hands on that one !

I have the 12" called "AT 17 SUITE that ends with Touch Me in the Morning. It starts with...."When I was 17, it was a very good year"....then mixes into several other well known cuts, including "I Thank You", and ends with "Touch Me". I also had a 12" out of canada that was only the Touch Me song, without the other pre mixed stuff before. The 12 is one of my pride and joys. Anyone else have this. It was pressed on Columbia in the states, as well as in Canada, I think. The lp was called Love Bites, as I recall.

You are describing the "seventeen suite" from Marlena's "Take a bite" album.

This Album was kind of hard to find for me BITD, ( I wanted the complete segued suite) and the "Touch me in the morning" 12" single on Columbia (AS-678 - remixed by John Luongo) was a very sought after record , according to some info posted on an Ebay auction, this 12" was only released as a Promo at the time, I don't recall exactly, maybe someone else knows for sure..

"Love Dancing" was also released as a 12" single
off this LP.

The "Touch me..." 12" single sold for 67.00 USD on 4/14/07 and I've seen past sales for around the same price.

In 2005 the "Take a bite" Album was released on CD, but it quickly disappeared and now sells for crazy money.

The scan below is from an auction as my copy is not here with me.

I see this info was previously posted..

Don't understand the high price tag for this. I mean, it's classic, but it's out there. :-?

After years of looking for this....I finally scored Denise LaSalle's "I'm So Hot" LP....I set it aside on Sunday cuz it's a "test pressing" with no photos or credits...but I went back on Monday and bought it..($11.99)...so now I have "Try My Love"... in the collection!!!

also, scored the
Ashford & Simpson
1976 LP with "One More Try" on it...the Impact LP with "Happy Man/ Give a Broken Heart A Break" and a cd with the long remixed version of Jesse Green's "Nice & Slow"("Diggin'In The Crates" or something like that!!!)

Oh, and a CD by Florence Ballard.... now I can hear her solo vocals and rethink the Berry Gordy decision to make her a back-up singer....
