Stuck is right,"dynamite"
on promo 12" is rare,but
it pops up once in awhile. What's rare is
a 12" single of "Jump to the Beat" from the same lp-unheard of or seen until it showed up on Ebay last year.

I've seen "12 copies of "Jump..." in the past, but not promo ones. Why so rare though? It's a good choon an' all...but hardly a must have for your collection. :-?

Buckaroo-you have to remember it's not always
the quality of the song
but how easy is it to find in a limited format.
"jump" was listed in Billboard/Disco as a top 10 record, but as an Lp cut not a promo 12"-thus
increasing it's value.At
the time,the 12" wasn't
known to exist except by the few DJ's lucky to get it.Factor in that's an original US promo(where it was originally
released)makes it highly
collectable to record
collectors.I wish I
could explain it better!

:D
Don't get me wrongthommy2458. I love the choon, otherwise I wouldn't have bought the LP. Also, it was #1 over here in 1980 for a few weeks so it did well. I'm just surprised that's all...Because I'm past the stage where I used to seriously collect records on certain labels. But as you rightly point out, releases on certain promo/indie labels etc, are very valuable.

Not a promo, but Dynamite was released as a 12 inch single and it's a good pressing >>> http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/530_0_2_0_C/

My copy that i found in a junk store isn't a promo but a commercial European realese, included on the "Polydor Disco" 2 album set - other tracks include the full version of Isaac Hayes Moonlight Lovin', out of which Dance Little Dreamer is sort of mixed. The sleeve notes claim there was a 12" version of the Bionic track available separately as well. Must be terribly rare.

To the list I would add Ashford & Simpson - One More Try 12".
Not rare but damn expensive. Last copies sold on eBay for around $600-700.

I have The Original "Devil's Gun" by CJ & Co. 12". But it's not a yellow covering on the LP itself. I saw that yellow cover on Ebay. Do ya'll think the yellow covering is the actual original? I bought the LP in Houston, Tx in the late 70's brand new. I've only played it like 4 or 5 times. Last night I bought Odyessys (sp) Native New Yorker for 1.00 12" RCA Disco sleeve. I did not know RCA had disco sleeves. Looked pretty cool. Bought a Sylvester album that was made in 1972 or 74. Looks like he was with all these male musicians on the cover. $1.00 also. Andrea True Connection lp, The Crusader's album, Sylveter's Stars album, Dan Hartman's Relight my Fire album and more. I only saw half the record bin.

Default Hard Disco Song To Find

It took me 15 years to find, From Here To Eternity by Giorgio. I found the LP, but I heard the single on a Canadian station from Quebec City.

I heard that the single was not released in this country.

The most difficult 12" record to find right now are the later Hot Plate series volumes 8,9,11-14. 1-7 can easily be found. This is like finding a perpetual needle in a haystack. Its probably easier to find Al Capones hidden vaults than it is to find one of these friggin records!! If anyone has Hot Plate 13 please contact me!! Nice topic!!
