Voyage "From East to West" is quite hard to find on 12 inch as unlike their other smash hit "Souvenirs" it was never officially released on 12 inch (not in UK or USA anyway). I have 2 copies however, a German Hansa label version which is edited (cuts out some of the intro) and runs to approx 5 mins+ and a full length 7min version which was pressed in mid 1980's on a label who's name escapes me, something like Unidisc. Believe there's also a 12 inch on sirocco label which is a double A side featuring both "From East ot West" and "Souveniers".

[quote="Karlos"]Exodus comes up fairly regularly on E-Bay, it's rare but not that rare.

Hi karlos, did you talking about the 12" on CHARLOTTE AMALIE label...?

i've been searching for 3 other records since a long time....and think they are hard to find...

JOHN GIBBS AND US STEEL BAND - trinidad - 12"
CHAIN REACTION - dance freak - 12"
CELA - i'm in love - 12"

Yes,

Exodus on the original label.....it usually goes for $150 upwards...John Gibbs is fairly rare, not my bag so don't really know too much more about this neither the other two. The really rare stuff tends to go for $500 or more these days ie recent Ashford & Simpson "One more Try" which went for $710..!!

I wonder how the quality is on the Sirocco label? I know its still available, sealed in New York.

It is not surprising it went to NY since tha majority of the copies left of this are in UK.

It only took me 27 years to find the long 6 minute+ Polydor label version of Bionic Boogie's "Dance Little Dreamer" but hey, just found it a couple of weeks ago, and what's curious I didn't find it in New York, Paris or anywhere else one would think of but in a small Finnish town. Who threw it away to that horrible junk store and why? The elusive record sounds great, with boosted congas rattling away excitingly the entire duration of the track. There are however no extra instrumental passages or anything new as such at all, it's really like the album affair played twice in succession, only it's sounding truly terrific and powerful. Still, even with no extra breaks a major find, or what?

I believe the 12" version can be found on '79 album/cd. Check ebay and half.com for cheap prices.

Default Phyliss Hyman

If you live in the UK, I have seen quite a few copies in Brighton second hand shops (most going for £3 - £10 depending on condition). Also in quite a few charity shops!!

I think this is the problem. I believe "You Know How to Love Me" was only issued on a 12" single on Arista in the UK. I don't think a U.S. copy exists.

I'm wondering whether 'Markydefad' might have some chart info on Phyliss Hyman as Billboard give catalogue numbers. If it hit the dance charts. He seems to have loads of excellent info on the US charts.
