How about "Step out of my dream" The Strangers

Found that one not too long ago, but was a bit disappointed. It's really two very different albums thrown together. I already had an Italian LP with just Hills Of Katmandu and Wishbone, and I really liked these and was looking forward to more. But the other tracks that were added to The Double Album sound like they're from another act completely.

i have both the tangerue lp and the strange affair lp.

the tangerue is on unidisc - i think it was only issued in canada, but maybe our european friends can correct me. i bought a sealed copy from someone on ebay a couple of years ago. i played it once at most because i already had the "hot" (NOT!) cd. actually, aside from the strange affair intro being omitted, it's not as bad as some of their other shoddy releases (like the best of fun fun, which is missing one of the listed tracks BECAUSE THEY INCLUDE ANOTHER TRACK TWICE).

the strange affair lp i found used around the same time on an italian label.

both of these records just go to show how the american major labels turned their backs on disco (particularly the symphonic stuff) by the end of '79. these were expensive, quality american productions that were never released [hot cd notwithstanding] in the usa!

This sort of exemplifies the shody workmanship on a lot of these reissues. I've actually seen where they misspell titles as well...

The ones I've seen to go for $700 + are -

Denice La Salle "I'm so hot"
Barrabas "Woman" Red vinyl 12"

Leatherman, if you can find the person who spent 700.00 on Miss La Salle's "I'm So Hot", I'll cut you in.

"Freedom To Express Yourself", if it was ever on 12" would be worth as much

In a certain sense, I would like to ask the opposite (we're talking about remixing in another thread)......
Was the famous W Gibbons remix of "It's a better than good time" by Gladys Knight ever pressed by BUddah in the US ????
I never saw a US copy of this but only canadian pressings (even if the cat. # follows the US codes - DSC 130 -)[/quote]

Yes, it did come out in Canada via Quality. Similarly, the Jacksons remix of "Shake Your Body Down To The Ground" by John Luongo was released through Epic/Sony Canada.
The group hated it, but Sony sold about 20,000 on export.

Default Re: Repost - Do These Exist?

Kevin, your list ROCKS...

From what I remember..and to assist the best I can:

Bionic Boogie: Dance Little Dreamer - US Polydor promo 12"

-the 12", which features a 7'18 version of Risky Changes, did not feature a longer version of "Dance Little Dreamer". It is the 3:43 album version. No other version exists to my knowledge.

Claudja Barry: Love For The Sake Of Love - US Salsoul 12" promo (Tom Moulton remix)

-the same mix appears on the album. Rumoured, but not confirmed it exists.

Ralph Carter: When You're Young & In Love - US Mercury 12" promo

-extended version appeared on the B sided of the promo 7" single. I put this on the BMG Disco Classics CD I did years ago.

Cerrone: Love In 'C' Minor - US Atlantic yellow label promo 12" DSKO 86

-I have never seen this and if anyone has it, scan the label and send it to Bernie so we can see that it exists.

Crystal World: Crystal Glass - French commercial or promo 12"

-no evidence..

Giorgio: Baby Blue - US Casablanca 12" promo

-12" was never issued in the US, however, one was done commercially in Canada. I have an acetate of the US album. There is a cold ending on side B of the international album that differs from the US edition.

Major Harris: Jealousy - US Atlantic yellow DSKO 12" promo (saw this in a Discothekin' trade magazine article from 1976 announcing the latest Atlantic 12"ers, including Lady Bump, Strangers In the Night, and Wild Cherry... It probably was cancelled but maybe a few copies were pressed?)

-all three mentioned, aside Jealousy, exist. Lady Bump was remixed by Anita Wexler, Strangers in the Night is hilarious and Wild Cherry is longer, and equally as awful.

Richard Hewson Orchestra: Love Bite - US Splash/Private Stock 10" promo

-extended version also exists on the 7" B side at almost five minutes and has Kay Garner of Cerrone and Voyage fame
on lead vocals.

Loleatta Holloway: Dreamin' - US Gold Mind 12" promo

-yes, with the Walter Gibbons mix

Phyllis Hyman: Leavin' The Good Life Behind - US Private Stock 10" or 12" promo (early Tom Moulton remix from '75)

Michele: Can't You Feel It - US West End 12" promo
-an all time favourite, not sure on the 12" but European release has a different mix than Moulton's on West End.

Patti Jo: Make Me Believe In You - US Scepter 12" test pressing (a friend swears he has seen a copy of this!)

-it does

Teddy Pendergrass: I Don't Love You Anymore - US Philly International 12" (supposedly there was an ad in Billboard announcing this along with the other first 12" commercial pressings released by Columbia/Epic/PIR... not released, but perhaps copies exist?)

-no way. They used to do this all the time. Been waiting for the "If You Wanna Go Back" by Jean Carn 12" even longer.

Tavares: It Only Takes A Minute - 1975 US Capitol 12" promo (a friend claims to own a copy of this - but hasn't been able to locate it to provide a catalog number... it supposedly is NOT the 7" promo disco version that has popped up on eBay 2 or 3 times over the last few years for $200 - $300!!!)

-gotta check the vault, but pretty sure it's accurate..

I purchased the 7" of More More More back in 1976 and side 2 had a continuation of side one. It was a longer version, possibly the LP version, but it was also vocal.

A promo copy of Marlena Shaw's "Touch Me in the Morning" went as high as $250.00 and was not sold because the reserve price was not met. Before this I was not aware of a 12" on Columbia of this song.

1979, 12" promo, AS 678, Columbia, remixed by John Luongo, "TMITM" b/w "Shaw Biz/Suddenly It's How I Like To Feel".

1987, Columbia 12" 'Mixed Masters' Series, 44H-07555, "Love Dancin" (remixed by Luongo and Michael Barbiero) b/w "TMITM".

Don't understand the high price tag for this. I mean, it's classic, but it's out there. :-?

The Love Dancin 12" seems to be around. Its the "Touch Me in The Morning" 12" that seems to be legendary.
