Default Sado Maso Disco

:o What a brilliant title & subject for a record! I remember Jussi mentioning this track by Must on a thread from last year that was about erotic/ pornographic/ pervy (however you choose to see it!) disco records & thinking I loved the outrageousness of it. Well, I found a 7"(oo) Canadian copy on CBS records recently here in Manchester & its everything I expected & more! The people behind the record appear to be Italian; did Must do anything else & has anyone got any info on the group at all?
This record is a wonderful companion in my collection for such as Grace Jones' 'Sinning/Suffer', Rinder & Lewis 'Envy (Animal Fire)', Phreek's 'I'm a Big freak (R U 1 2)' & Chocolats' 'King of clubs' which are amongst my favourite 'eroto-disco'! 8)

I found the 12" not too long ago. Amusing, but I was expecting something a little... darker. The music seems much too light for the subject matter...

Dear Friends!
I mentioned MUST (maybe they were from France or
Canada?) and also GRACE JONES somes chartz before.
MUST is really funny and should not be taken too serious.

On the subject of S&M Disco...

I'd mention "I Strip You" & "Fear" by Easy Going; "Walk The Night" by Skatt Brothers; "Escape From New York" by John Carpenter (ok, it's instrumental....BUT there are lotsa screams)..... hmmmm...I'm sure I can think of some more.

On her second, truly nasty album ( with tracks about paedophilia, bestiality etc - you name it, she does it - ) the irrepressable Ilona Staller aka La Cicciolina does "Black Sado". She screams out in pain a lot and there are the usual whiplash effects. A male vocalist dishes out the abuse. This is not as extreme though as "Love On The Beat" by Serge Gainsbourg. Here the slave really seems to get it, screaming and crying pitifully while Serge cataloques the punishments. In Diabolik Soul Invention's "Mefisto", the narrative has a woman gradually possessed and then raped by a demon....but must we go on? If so, let's hear more, please :-)

I know what Graham means about the music being too light for the subject matter but sometimes I find this type of musical contradiction/ paradox interesting. It always amused me in the 80's how the more bondage/ leather orientated clubs I visited played the campest music whilst the gay clubs that had the trendy/twink types played dark 'goth' type music. To me this was a very interesting part of nightlife back then; nowadays, everything seems to be taken more at 'face-value' & is consequently more predictable I feel.

I never watched the film "Ai No Corrida" but people say "Ai No Corrida" shows a burning relationship between a man and a woman. Whatever the disco song "Ai No Corrida" by Quincy Jones is wonderful and recaptures the spirit of disco.
