| It's a cover of "How Long", which was a Phyllis Hyman song released after her passing. I love it! Some mixes will be great for clubs - a variety of house-type mixes (which I like) and tribal (not my favorite style). They said it's a limited edition single available only at Medium Rare or Perfect Beat in LA. I was also told that Linda may be doing a CD signing there the weekend of Folsom Street Fair! And that she will have all of her albums on CD - including bonus tracks!!! Of course, I have them all on vinyl but to have them on CD and have them signed by her makes me very happy! This will be the weekend of her show in San Francisco, which I can't wait for! Because it's Folsom weekend and it's only one show, you should get tickets early as I know there are lots of Linda fans here and it may sell out (it's great showroom but is less than 200 people). I saw Ashford and Simpson there and it was a sold-out show for 2 weeks. Here's a link: www.therrazzroom.com I saw that Linda performed at the Market Days festival in Chicago last night. Did anyone here go and see her? What is your review? I also picked up the new Jessica Williams single, "Mingle With The Night". I like very much the first mix but the others don't use her vocals as they should. But for $3, it's worth it for the first mix! A very exciting disco year for me - Donna Summer this weekend, Linda Clifford next month, Pamala Stanley in October and the Trocadero Party in October! |

| Hope you enjoy these fab-sounding events! I hardly ever go to see live acts but I recently decided to buy tickets to see Chaka Khan here in Manchester & I was contacted the day before the concert to say poor Chaka had been taken ill & the evening was cancelled.

| Donna Summer was wonderful last night! So far, my two "disco" concerts of the year have been fabulous! Ashford and Simpson, Donna Summer. Next up, Linda Clifford and then Pamala Stanley! I saw Chaka Khan in San Francisco with the symphony a couple years ago. The sound was so poor, not only could I not understand a word she was singing, I couldn't recognize the song until almost the end of it. They didn't fix the problem until nearly the end of the show. So, for the last 3 -4 songs, she was great. |

| Saw our friend, Michael from Medium Rare Music, at the Donna Summer concert this past Saturday. I had to interrogate, um, I mean ask him Also, we talked about her upcoming show at the Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco. Dansez is right that this place is a great showroom. For those of you who know San Francisco, the Rrazz Room replaced the intimate Plush Room cabaret at the York Hotel. A major improvement, the Rrazz Room is now located near Union Square in the beautiful and modern Hotel Nikko. All seats have a great view whereas the Plush Room had some seats where beams from the floor to ceiling could partially obstruct your view. Ashford & Simpson were indeed amazing in this space, especially since they could interact with the audience. I've only seen Linda Clifford perform live on stage at big events. So, I really hope to see her at the Rrazz Room with wonderful acoustics (so you can really hear her sing!), comfortable seats and tasteful cocktails! Michael is hopeful that if Linda does well, he will be able to book more classic disco performers in the showroom. Although Linda's show is on a Monday night, it's early so we can head over after work and still get home at a reasonable hour! |

| Great to see that Linda Clifford's albums will be re-issued, specially «I'll keep on loving you». I have three Capitol copies of the vinyl and all three are in poor state now! Her Curtom albums were re-issued in cd in England some years ago but without the 12" versions (and besides every song of the «Let me be your woman» album had lost its first two seconds). «How Long» is a nice song but the four Paul Goodyear mixes are almost the same. |

"Only The Angels Know" and "All The Man I Need" are two of my favorites by Linda Clifford and I am so happy that this album will finally be available on CD! When I asked several weeks ago he told me that "Sneakin' Out" and "My Heart's On Fire" will also be on CD - again all of these with bonus tracks of 12" versions. He said that he would be sending out an e-mail as soon as they arrive. I can't wait! The only other time I saw Linda Clifford was at SF Pride last year and I couldn't get as close to the stage as I wanted - there were thousands of people there! So it will be very much a treat to see her at the Rrazz Room. I was very impressed with the room when I saw Ashford and Simpson there - especially with the sound. And yes, the cocktails. I'm also happy that even though it's on a Monday, it will be an early show. And it's right near BART, so I can take it back to the East Bay quite easily. |

| For some unknown reason, just one song from the album «I'll Keep On Loving You» is available on cd : «Build a Fire». The cd is called «Boogie Times Presents The Great Collectors: Funky Music 80ies Vol 8» (12 songs from the beginning of the 80s). | Several of the Linda Clifford albums remastered for CD were released at Medium Rare Music last week! I picked up "Linda," "Let Me Be Your Woman," "I'll Keep On Loving You," "Sneakin' Out," and "My Hearts On Fire." The "If My Friends Could See Me Now" CD was also available, but since they were already low on stock on that album and since I have 2 prior CD releases, I saved that one for later. Michael at Medium Rare told me that Linda herself is behind the release of these CDs! The Curtom and Capitol Records (I'll Keep On Loving You) albums all have new liner notes from Ms. Clifford and, most importantly, bonus tracks!! "Linda" had the most bonus tracks with 7 (extended 12"s of "From Now On" and "You Can Do It" along with some early singles). "If My Friends..." had the 12" version of "Runaway Love." "Let Me Be Your Woman" has a 12" version of "Don't Give It Up," which Michael said was never released in the U.S. either commercially or as a promo. "I'll Keep On Loving You" includes the extended 12" versions of "Don't Come Crying To Me" (in lieu of the album version) and "I'll Keep On Loving You." "Sneakin' Out" (the first of her 2 Red Label albums) has 6 bonus tracks and "My Hearts..." has 1 bonus track. I listened to "I'll Keep On Loving You" and "Let Me Be Your Woman" so far and I thought they sounded very nice. To my ears, clean & rich sound! Especially one of my favorite Linda Clifford songs, "Only The Angels Know," with Luther Vandross vocal arrangements. The only minor problem with that CD is that the company that manufactured the CDs for Linda used a wrong artwork file. Therefore, the credits are really fuzzy - pretty much illegible. If you have the original vinyl album, hang onto it to read the credits! Michael mentioned that the other Curtom releases ("I'm Yours" and "Here's My Love") will hopefully come out next year! These CDs are exclusively being sold by Medium Rare for the time being. However, they are suppose to be available for purchase when Linda performs at the Rrazz Room on Sept. 29th (part of the Disco Divas: Unplugged and Amp'd Up! series - next is Pamala Stanley on the night after Remember the Red Party, Monday, Oct. 13th). Yay! I understand Linda will be autographing after the show!!! Medium Rare does mail order. You can contact them by Email at mediumraremusic1@aol.com or by phone at (415) 255-7273. |
