| I've just read somewhere Taka Boom is Chaka Khan's sister? Would this be correct? If so, are there any collaborations? I feel the two voices are so different. Thanks for informing me.

| Dirk, I saw this online, and it SEEMS detailed & accurate enough to verify that fact, but you never know with the internet . . . Taka Boom Bio (Part 1) |

| Many thanks! It's shame there are no collaborations.

| Joel Whitburn's "Billboard Book of Top 40 R&B and Hip-Hop Hits" lists Taka Boom as the sister of Chaka Khan and of the Jamaica Boys' Mark Stevens. |

| One of the only collabo's i'm aware of is Chaka and her brother Mark Stevens singing on a track from the group Juicy, aroud 1987 : Juicy - Spread the Love Mark also recorded as a member of the Jamaica Boys during the same year, Other members from the Jamaica Boys included bassplayer Marcus Miller, drummer Lenny White. Side-members were keyboardist Bernard Wright and guitarist Charlie Drayton. |

| Really? I thought it would have come up much earlier? Anyway, can I just say I soooooo don't like Chaka Khan? There isn't a single song of hers I have heard that I remotely like. All of them have this, too funky style. I even skip her track (and I never skip) on Disco Connection Vol.2. |

| No I'm serious. I just listened to this track you mentioned on youtube and I don't like it either. It's not as bad as I Love You I Live You, which honestly I cannot bear to even hear a note of, that's really painful for me to listen to. She's way too funky for me. I don't mean to offen any lovers of her, but I just hate every song of hers I've ever heard. |

But like Dayna explains below, that's the way of expressing herself and "I Know You, I Live You" is technically a good song. I guess that maybe a number of female singers wish they had the vocal ability to pull that song off in the way that Chaka does it. (text-edit ... i sounded much too serious, Last edited by boogyjuice; July 10th, 2008 at 11:51 PM. |

Through The Fire..This is My Night..What Cha' Gonna Do for Me..Clouds.and my personal favorite..AINT NOBODY.and so many more.. Chaka doesn't have that silky disco honied voice that alot of people like.."I love that Silky Disco Honied Voice ".Take Diana for example exact opposite of Chaka."and you know I LOVE me some Diana"...But Chaka has a power and strength to her voice that makes you feel what she's singing.. the girl can BLOW~!!..give her one more try.. Listen to "Through The Fire" or This Is My Night..those I think would suit you..

Boogyjuice, You got me thinking and after all these days I figured it out~!! Chaka is singing prominent background (what we used to call a 'step-out' vocal) on the Jamaica Boys "Palm Of Your Hand" from their first CD/LP. |
