| I guess it really is going to happen this time around. It's the only conclusion I can get from the from the widespread and uniformly positive (!) press coverage of her one-off performance at London's Meldown Festival yesterday.. She apparently performed four new songs along with a new video for one of them.. It seems she was only 30 minutes late for her performance this time One of the new songs she reportedly performed is on YouTube now.. Not exactly the most musical thing she's ever done, but right on the cutting edge, as expected. The comeback to put all others to shame? Last edited by neonlights; June 20th, 2008 at 11:37 PM. |

| I tried to get tickets for this having found out about it about 6 days after tickets went on sale. I thought given Grace's reputation (lateness etc..) I would have no problems. I was told by ticket salesperson that the gig had sold out in hours, and it aint a small venue!! |

| Thanks for that clip Dayna. It sounds to my ears like something Michael Jackson did in the 90s. I don't think I'll bother buying it.

People are going nuts and are rewinding it on and on. This is indeed the classic Grace, and it's what makes her a fresh breeze of air in the business where some record-execs miss the boldness to experience with different concepts. A handful of other artists as well, like Bjork, Beck, and maybe some more in the independent scene are the ones who are not swimming in the same stream of so many artists from the commercial media. |

| Oooohhh I love it, but what is this video? Did they show this at some concert or before an appearance of hers? I love the video too, I have never seen anything like this. In a way I hope she does have a nice comeback, I don't see this being a huge thing like, I don't know, Cher, but I dont' think I would even want that, but I would want her to be paid her dues, too few people know what a great artist she is and the really really great music she has put out. Is this "Corporate Cannibal"? |

and if it's released on dvd-format then i'll buy it for shure. That's about the correct title, which (i guess) they showed indeed at one of her recent performances, with the live-band backing up the video. |

| That's really great! Seems like at last some great quality big release for Grace Jones at last. The last wonderful breathtaking thing I had seen of hers was her appearance at Fashion Rocks where she was wearing yet again an outwordly headpiece, this time an aerodynamic long long helmety hat/mask made of a grid-like material, sitting on a piece or staircase singing Nightclubbing. By far the best even shit I've seen. Simple in itself, yet breathtaking. How I had never seen pictures of this or read about it in papers or magazines is beyond me. I remember the youtube video had an a&e logo on the screen. Is this available on an official tape or dvd? I'd LOVE to have this. |

| She became a traitor and sell out in 1980 and nothing she has done since that year is worth listening to. Hard to believe that a woman who sang such classy music in the 1970's could lower herself to the depths of absolute garbage that she managed to produce in the 1980's... Quote:

| Violin, sounds really personal and not terribly objective. Her early 80s albums are classics and the Compass Point sessions are almost legendary. Whoever calls that great music garbage and mean it has no ears. Her late 80s albums are another thing. While most seem to agree that Inside Story is a great album, I think it's really bad, and prefer Bulletproof Heart a lot more. How exactly do you think she sold out and who did she betray? She moved on as the music industry did, one of the first actually. |

| Carol-Ann... Please bring me my tea. And bring Dayna a Diet Dr. Pepper, as well.

Here's a review of the June 19th, 2008 show, in London. It appears that she's come home to combining music and art, in a way that no one else can pull-off. Put some Grace in your FACE!!! First Night: Grace Jones, Meltdown Festival, Royal Festival Hall - Reviews, Music - The Independent This is my favourite line... It sums-up Ms. Jones perfectly. "Jones is arguably where music and art collided so strikingly: the point at which Warhol, Haring and Paul-Goude meet the producers of her records." 60 years old and she still pirouettes on the razor's edge. But, keep in mind that Grace recorded two albums during the 1990s, that have yet to be released. In 1994 she was supposed to release the LP "Black Marilyn". And in 1998, an album entitled "Force of Nature".
