"Beautiful" Disco

Folks, I could really use a hand!

I was listening to FranklinDisco's video contributions over at YouTube and stumbled upon this GEM that I had never heard before:





THIS is the kind of DISCO that absolutely sends me flying. I love the orchestration and especially the SWEEPING strings. Listening to this, does anyone have any similar songs they can recommend? I'm not talking about the mainstream stuff like from Barry White. I'm fully aware of his contributions. But anything else?

I like the term "beautiful" for disco, because a lot of it is. And like Franklin I wasn't there first time around I am 24 but I love it so much its crazy! there are few specialty nights in Brisbane Queensland AUSTRALIA where I am from so I go to clubs with my mates and I do like some modern dance music - its just that its nothing like the sound of proper BEAUTIFUL disco. Some disco you'd call funky or sexy but beautiful: heres what i think..DEXTER WANSEL I'll Never Forget My Favourite Disco CAROL DOUGLAS Midnight Love Affair SHARON REDD In The Name Of Love POUSSEZ Boogie With Me (funky but beautiful strings) REAL THING Cant Get By Without You ... theres a lot of others but thats all i can think of for now

"Franklin" is one of the biggest contributors of disco on Youtube - we've exhnaged emails over the past year - he's a train driver from Texas I think...brilliant!!

Of course, Summer of 42 is up there! But, I've heard that one!

Videoskooter, you NAILED it! There's a tune I'd never heard before and, indeed, it IS "beautiful"! Listen to those sweeping strings and driving beat! Also, the faint touch of female vocals really sends it!
