 Sister Sledge/Love Somebody Today-a better LP than We Are Family? Recently snagged the Sledge's 1980 Chic-produced LP and from Side A through B I was stunned at what a classic, clean and sharp record this. Easy Street, Reach Your Peak, Pretty Baby, I'm A Good Girl...I'd say almost all the songs are strong. Got To Love Somebody is like a more mellowed out I'm Coming Out lyrically and sonics wise, but has such a tight groove and great chorus. You Fooled around is spacey and complex. I could go on...Dare I say, I like this LP more than 79's We Are Family. Bar the HUGE singles and Thinking Of You, I could do without Easier To Love, Somebody Loves Me and the abbreviated One More Time on that record.
