| According to Greg Wilson, Barry was found dead in his New York apartment, he was 60. It's also mentioned in this updated page: Barry Lederer @ Disco-Disco.com That's all we know right now. Maybe in the forthcoming days more info will be made public.

| It is always sad when the "architects" of our passions pass on. Thank you Barry. For your contributions and talents. http://www.discomusic.com/people-more/2740_0_11_0_C/ Last edited by Bernie; June 2nd, 2008 at 07:20 PM. Reason: URL |

| Barry was responsible for starting me out in my 30 year career in the music industry. I was never a DJ of note like Robbie, Jimmy, Alan Dodd or the rest of the group but I was acquainted with many of them. I worked for Barry & Peter Spar starting in 1976 and as the years went by, worked at the Botel because of Peter's insistence. Barry then started turning over many of his mixing commissions to me, including several fashion shows. I then went into business for myself and owe this success to Barry's introduction into this particular world. We lost touch over the last 10 or so years, and I recently moved out of New York City, but word of Barry's passing traveled very quickly. I'm saddened by his death and will remember the good times we shared. Rest in peace, Barry. Sincerely - Richard L Brezner |

| Some news from The New York City Coroners' office. The cause of death has yet to be released, but it was called "Natural Causes". That is a good thing, I guess. It wasn't violent or a crime, and I thank God for that. Barry was not a violent person, rarely got mad. He was peaceful, so I am glad he died peacefully. R.I.P. |

| Thanks for the update Pete...glad it seems peaceful. I am amazed, but not surprised at the number of people Barry helped, he seemed a REALLY kind soul, and I glad to say that I know I made him laugh and happy during our conversations during his final year on this planet. R.I.P. BARRY |

| I only met Barry the once, when he came to see me play at APT in New York a few years back, but we kept in touch since via email and I was hoping to hook-up with him again when I return to NY. Very sad to hear the news of his death. In addition to the interview that Bernie did with him, there's a further online interview with Barry here: BARRY LEDERER |

| For those of us who never knew Barry, would be nice to know what his "favorites" music list was like, just to get an idea. R.I.P.
