Default Instruments from this era?

Hi y'all I'm an eighties baby with an old soul. I'm trying to make/recreate the sound of the disco era, but i don't know the types of instruments used. Can anyone help me out?

Fender Rhodes piano, Clavinet, live strings, live drums and latin percussion...others will add to this list...

Take a look at what Jamiroquai's liner notes...he's got the 70's/80's disco sound down pat, as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for the info, I think I might have one of his records I will definitely read the liner notes.

I forgot how good Machine Gun is until I saw the video, Real musicians and real instrucments with funk and a Disco beat :() Yummy.

Yes, the machine gun clip is good, although it isn't live audio, but from the studio recording. I'm not sure if they played live, and then someone at some point afterwards overlapped the studio version. I always assumed, for instance, that the bass part was a synthesizer, not an actual bass guitar playing. Unless both are playing.

If you guys like Machine Gun, there was another track called Rapid Fire that had a similar feel, which was on the same LP. And then on Caught In The Act, they had an instrumental which I think was called 'Yeah You're Right', which also sounded Machine Gun-ish, but a little more like a sequel to Rapid Fire.
