Default I Feel Love vs. Blue Monday

Which of these tracks is better? Obviously the comparison is somewhat arbitrary, as, inter alia, firstly, they were made within different contexts and, second, there are obviously other tracks that could be as aptly compared. However, to me that represent possibly the two juggernauts of modern dance music in the making, and I would like to hear which people prefer and why. I will enter the discussion proper after the ball gets rolling so to speak.

Peace and love

I Feel Love has to win by purely being six years ahead of Blue Monday. I like them both but I would choose Giorgio's masterpiece any day as I always belived it to be one of the most original & exciting records ever made of any genre or era, regardless of it being part of the disco thing. When music 'experts' drone on about punk or glam or prog rock when discussing the 70s I just want to say 3 little words - I Feel Love - THE record of the decade with nothing else coming close IMO. It changed how popular music was seen forever. Blue Monday, as much as I like it, just wasn't as earth-shattering really; it sounded almost quaint in '83 when electronic dance music was making all sorts of technical leaps and bounds. Blue Monday had a fun, euro-schlock quality a bit like a Divine /Bobby O track had at that time.

Yep ..... I think as time continues to pass ... it becomes increasingly clear how significant that song was. Using their distanced & unbiased ears ... I would not be surprised if in another fifty years.... it will be I FEEL LOVE that will be singled out as the most revolutionary song for music from the 1970's.
