| One of the strangest ones I have: Pattie Brooks' "Heartbreak In Disguise" promo remix 12" 1st release: Name incorrectly spelled as "Patti" The letter "l" is missing in "Disco Remix Consu tant", on both sides. Label's Catologue# reads the same as on the dead wax.(w/o the "Re-1) The Master 2-track tape actually speeds-up really fast, then slows back down 3 or 4 times, by the halfway mark of the first verse. As if you'd switched from 33 to 45, and back again. Dead wax: Side 1 - NBD 20142 DJ AS S-6422 Side 2 - NBD 20142 DJ BS Re-1 S-6423 2nd release: Name corrected to "Pattie" The "l" is back in "Consultant" The speed/pitch changes are gone. Labels' Catalogue# reads NBD 20142 DJ Dead wax: Side 1 - NBD 20142 AS K-10215 Side 2 - NBD 20142 BS Re-1 K-10261 (should be 10216?)

| Speaking of Pattie Brooks, I have two Canadian copies of the Party Girl LP. While they have the same sleeve, the tracklisting on the labels are different. One supposedly does not have "Got Tu Go Disco" on side 2 but a number called "Sold On Your Love" instead. However, it actually plays "Got Tu Go Disco". I have to wonder which one was more recent -- was the track hastily added to the album in anticipation of it being a hit, or was it abruptly pulled after the musical "Got Tu Go Disco" turned out to be a massive bomb? |

That track does seem like an after-thought as it was produced by Jurgen Koppers while the rest of the LP is by Bunny Sigler. Despite the musical flopping 'GTGD' is my favourite track; I was disappointed with the rest of the LP.

| I agree... I've found that most of Pattie Brooks' material is quite unremarkable -- it's not bad per se, just lacking in anything that makes it stand out -- but Got Tu Go Disco is at least a catchy tune. |

| Not a major fan of our Ms. Brooks either. I was disappointed after the thrill of hearing "After Dark" for the first time (love the break!!), and buying the album, hoping to find more gems. I ended up getting 3 LPs, and only listening to "After Dark", and "Party Time", the only 2 tracks I really find worthwhile .

| I believe Pattie's a better back-up singer, than lead vocalist. (You can hear her wiping-up-the-floor with everyone else, on DC LaRue's "Let Them Dance") But she did put Simon Soussan on the map. It was a hit, but had "Pop Collage" been mixed properly, it could've lasted for years as a classic. The credits read like a serious "Who's Who" of Disco '77! Unfortunately, (as with Juergen Koppers & "Got Tu Go Disco") the Producer shouldn't have done the mix-down. It was really sloppy. After Dark was, simply, a perfect Disco record. Period. Heartbreak In Disguise was (thankfully, due to Manny Slali's remix...), to me musically, the peak of Simon Soussan's creativity. The arrangement of that song is his most balanced, between rythmn and music. And the back-up vocals introduced us to the unmistakable sound of**Mona Lisa, **Jessica Williams and **Muffi Durham. (Then he left Casablanca for the parent label and put out "**French Kiss", "**Arpeggio" and **"Romance". Soul Galore Productions died, and Harem Music was born. Unfortunately, from that point-on, everything sounded like "Love & Desire".) And, even though it's mostly instrumental, I've got a weak-spot for "Come Fly With Me / Let's Do It Again". It's just real "pretty". I'm probably more of a Simon Soussan fan, than a Pattie Brooks fan... But I do like, just about everything on the first two LPs. And the 12" screw-up on "Heartbreak..." was a big factor in it's doing as poorly as it did. Even by adding the "Love & Desire-esque" break to the intro of the b-side, didn't help. They just dragged their heels so long on putting it out. Too many other tracks had been released in the interim. It was already "old news". And give a closer listen to "Got Tu Go Disco". It really suffers from a poor mix, more than anything else. The elements of a good dance track are there, if you listen for them. They're just buried. And Pattie's not straining to hit notes that are out of her range, like in the previous LPs. Vocally, it's not a bad performance. None of that saves it from being a weak release. (Should've, Could've, Would've...) But it might redeem Pattie and Juergen, just a little bit.

| Nice to know someone else has this little oddity! It's a real jaw-dropper when you hear it...she sounds like one of the Chipmunks for a few seconds. Someone in Quality Control was really asleep at the switch. I was working at a disco pool at the time this came out, and I remember getting the call from Casablanca HQ asking to have them all sent back. |

| I have Patrice Rushen's Pizzazz with the A-side labelled as "Twennynine feturing Lenny White - Best of friends" , number 6E-223-A, while the B-side is correctly credited as Patrice Rushen - Pizzazz, number 6E-243-B. In fact, A side is mislabelled and actually plays Patrice's A-side ... |

| Here's a GREAT one, that you'll want to find... "Linda Clifford's Greatest Hits" - 1989 Curtom/Ichiban Records, Atlanta I was suprised to see a Greatest Hits LP get serviced to Record Pools, but BOY-HOWDY, was I happy they did! The white-label copies that we received were, mostly instrumental version LPs! Side 1: If My Friends Could See Me Now - 5'26", instrumental with bv's & cold-end intact. Don't Give It Up - 8'20", vocal (different mix than LP or 12") Runaway Love - 7'10", instrumental with bv's (The Jones Girls, YEAH!) Side 2: Red Light - 6'08", instrumental with bv's Shoot Your Best Shot (my fave L.C. track)- 7'48", instrumental with bv's From Now On - 7'01", vocal (original 12" mix) I went to the store and bought another copy as soon as it hit the shelves, but they'd fixed it by then. But what a great set to have for T-Dance & Classics Parties, to do my own on-the-fly Linda Clifford remixes with!

That blurry scan doesn't look like it's the same as mine. The time for "Runaway Love" looks, on your scan, to read 9'44"(?) And the words "Greatest Hits" look to be in a different font and off-center from her name, above. Your scan reads "Side 1", while mine reads "Side One". Lastly, your scan has "33 1/3 RPM" under the catalogue number. Mine doesn't. If you can, get him to check the tracks. I can't say for sure, that a set of white-label "vocal" promos didn't go out, as well. And the dead-wax #'s probably contain an "RE-1" (or something like that) for the vocal version release. The instrumental release only has "CUR-2007A" & "CUR-2007B", cut into the dead-wax at the end of the sides. No initials, or pressing-plant stamp, etc... Just the catologue numbers. Nothing else. The times are off the label. I've never checked them, myself. And I don't know what the times are, listed on the vocal version release, as I don't have it anymore. (Trimmed down the collection, after retirement and only kept the original pressings of Linda's material.) But I know the Mastering of both of the "Greatest Hits" releases match, 'cause I did the back-and-forth thing with them, alot. And the music flanges perfectly, between the two copies, while the vocal stays out front. And they hold a 2-beat echo, when quartz-locked on 0%, on the 1200's. The only track that I ever ran the two versions on top of eachother, for the entire track, was "Shoot Your Best Shot". And those were a perfect match. And exactly the same as the original mix, from the "I'm Yours" LP. Good luck! And "cheers!" if you find one. Here's the scans...

| There are many misprints on records I've got, including misspelled titles, incorrect timings, incorrect track orders..... But this one is my favourite. This is a photo of my Italian friend's copy of Ritchie Family's "Brazil" LP. It's obviously not the UK or US issue, it may be Mexican or European, I can't remember. Anyway, note the unintentionally hilarious misspelling of the track "Let's pool" !!!
