| Headed out to one of my favourite spots to browse through used vinyl and look what I picked up for $7.00 (CAD) each: ![]() Midnight Rhythm c.1979 Atlantic Records ![]() Midnight In Manhattan by Seventh Avenue An Ian Levine production c.1979 AVI Records Also picked up several 12" singles and a few other albums too. Never heard of either of these groups but enjoyed what I heard when I had a listen at the record store. Does anyone know what the singles were from either of these releases? Were they very popular? Another item I picked up was Tumble Heat b/w Find The Fire by Michelle Freeman on Polydor 12" c. 1979. Tumble Heat was produced, written and arranged by Don Ray and mixed by Jim Burgess. I also noticed on the label that the lyrics for both songs were by LaLa. Is this the same LaLa that had a few songs on the R&B charts in the mid-80's? Anyone know any info on this single and or Michelle Freeman. Not a name I recognize. |

| hey brother nice score down at your store the midnight rhythm album, which according to my records was released in 78, had only one song released off it, namely, 'workin and slavin' (i need love)', the 12" for which featured a vocal and instrumental version. the seventh avenue album had only one 12" single released off it, which featured 'miami heatwave' on the A and 'new york's on fire' on the B. neither album saw much commercial success as far as i'm aware, and neither album is regarded very highly in artistic terms, but there is some good music on it for sure. peace the boogie doctor |

| Hi, I haven't been on the forum for 4 years, but thought I would reply this time. I have two 12-inch singles from Midnight Rhythm (plus the LP); "Working & Slaving (I Need Love)" and "Climb (Rushing to Meet You)" Much the same as the LP versions I seem to remember, and both US releases, they have always been favourites of mine and remind me of a speeded up Village People in parts. I don't think they were 'big' in the UK but seemed to do well in the US disco charts at the time (as two separate entries). Best Wishes, Nobby
