| What's it like? It's got 4 tracks, it's apparently ultra rare and it's VERY expensive. Anyone heard it, anyone got it? How much would you say is it worth? And importantly, is it disco or is it experimental or some sort of jazz? |

I cleaned this one up ages ago. I found a sealed copy on GEMM a few years back for $30, but AVI's atrocious vinyl meant that it sounded dreadful. Don't spend big bucks on this one; it's hopelessly obscure for good reason. Like a lot of those AVI releases, it went direct to the cut-out bins... assuming that any copies were actually sold, as opposed to freebie promos. |

| Jussi I have it as well, it is disco oriented, and it's NOT worth the big bucks as Graham has pointed out. I am a Rinder and Lewis fanatic, but this LP is VERY weak. with all your travelling and record scrounging, you'll find a copy for a couple of bucks I'm sure

| Okay, now that I'm back home... The entire thing is barely 20 minutes long. It uses old Rinder & Lewis tracks with some new instrumentation and utterly forgettable vocals added. I suppose you could view it as being an innovative early example of "mash-ups", but really, I think it was just them making an album as cheaply as possible. There's an old thread on it which lists the original songs that the new tracks were built on: http://www.discomusic.com/forums/dis...bum-found.html |

| Thanks for the info! The problem these days is you find something interesting and apparently ultra obscure in the net and right away you're hooked, not knowing if it was a good but limited realese or if it's nothing special or downright bad, as seems to be the case with "Cheetah". But then again if you're a completist and an obsessive collector, what do you do, how much do you pay? I recently saw Crazy Colours Orchestra's "Bass Construction/Babe" 7" that I bought for 25 cents a few years back for sale for 200+ euros. It's very, very good but is it worth 200? Of course not. How much would I pay for it now, how many dancers would actually recognise it, is it really that exceptionally good to begin with, what if it's only just quirky and not that funky and I have lost my sense of judgement...? I'd pay 20. |

| Interesting that this topic is on the forum as I just saw a copy on the weekend - white album cover with a cheetah face impression in red/orange color. |

Yup, 2-colour printing. As cheap as it gets. |

Sadly, the days of my digging through dusty crates of $1 LPs and 12"s, taking all sorts of oddities home from just the label and year, are over. There are very few places left where I am that sell vinyl, and most of them aren't cheap at all. Seems that nothing goes for less than $40 online now. I'm glad I got what I did when I did... I can't afford this hobby anymore! |

The 1981 Le Pamplemousse LP 'My Love Is Burning Up' is also very short; I've got 12" singles that last longer!

Same goes for the 1980 Le Pamplemousse "LP". At least that one is musically okay. Cheetah and My Love Is Burning Up are pretty dire. |
