Lightbulb Confirmed: The Jackson's Reunion Tour 2008!

Jermaine Jackson's has officially confirmed the rumours that Tito, Marlon, Jackie, Jermaine and Randy, better known as The Jacksons will do a tour in 2008!

Asked if Michael would join, he answered: "Of course, he IS a Jackson, right?". Insiders also confirm that Michael is present at the meetings where the tour is prepared!

At the concerts, people will ask 'who's the white guy? Oh, it's Michael.'

Their supposed reunion really is a non-starter. Rumours are not a confirmation of truth. Its not a confirmed thing till its officially announced. But if I had to choose between two 70's teen groups - The Osmonds and The Jacksons - that have reformed and are touring (or rumoured to be touring), I'd choose the Osmonds over the Jacksons any day. The Jacksons did some great music in their time but I think the music has become overshadowed by the fact tht many consider the Jacksons a bit of a freakshow.

The Jacksons a freak show? I don't think so. And...I don't think I'd ever choose the Osmonds over the Jacksons; and it's not a racial thing.

The Jacksons came out first and then the Osmonds followed with Donny of course being the "Michael" of the Osmonds Group. Put them into a show together and see who comes out on top or who's the best; and remember, the Jacksons lasted much longer than the Osmonds, made more money, and have a deeper history.

I think the Jacksons tour will bring record fans; if anything, people will come out to see them just to see Michael Jackson, and, see if he can still dance, sing, see what he looks like, and/or see has old age and dustiness finally caught up with him. I am a Michael Jackson fan and "yearn" to see him up on the stage again in action. At his prime, no one could compare.

It's a little different when you're almost 50 years old.

It will be interesting! Hope it is not just a plan, hope it is a go!

These are not rumours, the negotiations are going on right now, WITH Michael who is present!

And I absolutely don't wanna be rude here but I think Michael and his brothers can use some cash!

Aren't you all excited hearing "Can you feel it?" LIVE again?????

Yes Video; I am excited and want to hear as much of their old stuff and hopefully something new (if they have anything new) again. And yeah, I'll bet the other Brothers, outside of Michael can use the cash (he probably could to).

But the question, the million dollar question mind you is this: "Is Michael up to the task?"

It's been almost 10 years since he did a full tour of any kind or type. Also, he has been through the mill physically, mentally and emotionally since his last concert tour, and, he is almost 50 years old.

Hope he can still kick, moon walk, slide, sing like a greedy songbird, and give us much theatrics like he once did.

daaaaamn!!!! i was a MJ fan when i was i child.... but hahaha too young to go to the concert...of course my parents wouldn't take me there! (my parents are all the opposite to me about partying hahaha) 10 years ago i was ....10!!!!! so this was somethin i always missed.
and during all this time with all theese scandals about kids and all that stuff made me forget him as an artist (and as a person too).
I'm proud to say i've recovered my admiration, cause he's got so much talent.

and you know....with my young age i'm always wondering how woould be to see all those 70s stars live. I hope they announce tour dates soon!!!!

Get REAL guys, as much as I want this to succeed, it WILL only serve as a reminder of WHAT ONCE WAS !!!
I know we all love the music, .....but it is just MONEY MEN trying to cash in on DREAMS!!!..... "ever was and ever will be" !!!
Of course, WE WILL ALL BE THERE, ...but really if we put on a VINYL DISC, that is the NEAREST we will EVER get these days
Sorry but true....
THE VINYL DISCS HAD THE GUYS WHO REALLY CREATED THE SOUND,.... AND ANYTHING ELSE IS JUST AT BEST A .....VIRTUAL REPLAY

That depends Starsky of what they are planning to do. Of course they all got much older (so did we) but if they wanna play da real thang it might be surprisingly good. I can hardly imagine that such legends will not do their very best for what's maybe their last tour together. Maybe there will be new arrangements, maybe they will play the songs the way they recorded 'em. No one knows right now.

You know, I saw Prince in London a few months ago and although it was so much different from the first concerts I saw of him in the mid eighties and the fact that the dancing was limited, it was a night 2 remember! So....

They are also planning to release a new album.

The question however is what kind of tour they are thinking of. A global one or just a limited series of cities?

One of our local radio stations mentioned that Janet Jackson is also joining this tour. I'm finding that a bit hard to believe, but she does have a new album coming out and her career isn't as hot as it used to be. So, I wonder???

ok! i know! it will never be the same! that was genuine thing that time, but its so important to me to see something that will be so near of what it was, and have the honor of being one of the people who will be PRESENT!!! there!!!! in a live concert of Jackson 5!!! don't care to much if it's a reunion after so much time cause i'll explain it to my future grandchildren too! i'm always moaning because of haven't been born earlier, but i've also feel so lucky for just being alive in the same period that they are, cause that give me tha chance to have some hope of seeing all theese people live at least once. They say it's possible to live only by dreams, and maybe that's what i'm doin, but that's enough good to me.

Hey, Vid and Wev, I take your point, if U are going to see Legends to perform then these are the legends to see,,,,,,,,esp. if U were not around first time. I definately had my cynical head on when I read the post,
I am cynical 'cos I is old......
But good luck getting tickets and enjoy....

hahahaha don't worry! what u said is so true! i prefer to read that than "oh yeah! they're the best forever and ever" and then gettin to see them expecting too much about it.
I'm pretty sure they'll do new arrangements, the question is if the songs will sound fresh and new, or it won't fit with it making the song sound bad, with the only good point of being a classic. u know what i mean?

another thing is that i'm going too fast. there's nothing official yet and lets see if they'll be in my city or country or near....or how is the day of the show to see if i can travel there or not...and how much is it....

I think it was 2001 when we last heard them together, a 30 year anniversay special for them I believe it was?

They performed some of those old hits and sounded superb in their grown-up, matured state. So I think that they will be o.k.

We are not looking for them to sound and look like they did 35+ years ago; we just want to see them perform, as they are, with those gifts that they have shared with us for many years. We know that they won't be as they were then, and anyone who yearns for that needs to be put in a mental clinic.

Anyway, I will be buying tickets if nothing happens.
