By the way, if you like Tapestry/Leon Lee, there's a really great funky disco track called 'He Was A Man'. There are two versions floating around. On iTunes you can get the one credit to Tapestry, which features a solo lead vocal; and on 45 (I forget the label), the same track is credited to Leon Lee and features a choral lead vocal(!); i.e. no solo vocal section. It's a great funky dance track from '74.

I wonder if this is the same Tapestry that did "Life Is What You Make It" in 75-76? this was a decent club hit
and I believe was produced by John Davis-it also had the
a/side vocal and flip instrumental.definitely worth checking out...

.. hello Disco_Funk .. Re: "She's dynamite" .. I can only find the 7" 45rpm version for sale .. how long is the 12" mix? .. to be honest, I always found the the early Ritchie Family material ( Brazil / Life is music / Best disco in town ) to be overly sugar-coated & saccharin sweet .. is this any different?

As far as I know, they're all the same group (including the incarnation that did 'Big Stone Wall' on Philly Groove in '73).

The 12" version, according to the label, runs at 4:15. Unfortunately my pressing isn't well centred, so the Ritchie Rome swirling strings are extra swirly. :(

The vocals aren't anything special. The groove of the backing track is somewhere between Lady Luck and Life Is Music, but the strings aren't overpowering. And lyrics are pretty basic, with the word 'dynamite' repeated over and over again, paired up with other short phrases. The second half of the song sounds exactly the same as the first half. For all I know, they made the 4 minute mix by repeat editing a minute and half to 2 minutes of it. Don't pay more than $15US unless you're really into that sound.

I can't remember where RCA label's Boogie Fund by Solar Flare was mentioned in this thread. I originally discovered it as a 12". When I saw the credits were philly (Ron Kersey, TG Conway and Allan Felder, involved), I snatched it up. I figured having that was good enough because the 7" is just a shorter edit. But after hearing the 7in of Boogie Fund on youtube, and discovering it's a little different, I decided to get the 7in. The flip side 'Don't Play With Fire' is a great slow jam and sounds completely different from the 12" version. It almost sounds like a completely different song. Just an fyi for those of you out there who really like Boogie Fund, which has somewhat cheesy lyrics, but is a great philly dancer:
