Re: Disco 2008 ! Quick report on the night.......some great and interesting live performances ...The fabulous Flirtations, Pearly Gates solo, Hazel Dean looking and sounding amazing,The Mckoy Sisters, Deanna Keanne...most photographed person of the night in a HUGE wig and silver six inch stack heels, Steve Brookstein turning on the charm and forgetting the words, Angelo Starr.. only one word fits - awesome, Noel McKoy..the best UK Male Soul voice of the moment, Stepping Out Of Style by Martina Barnett ..so sweet - the gorgeous Gee Morris (even if she does think i'm called Steve!), Matthew James Pateman turning a few heads as he sang up a storm despite a bad throat, Tahira Jumah & Fay Jones did their great duet from the album, Love Payment Overdue - McKoy Sisters...fast becoming my favourite ..except I love Second Hand Guy by Rebecca Chandler and Let Me Be A Sinner from Donna Williams a track from the DVD which gets better every time I hear it !
Faces on the night included Mark (S Express) Moore, Damon (Nomad) Rochfort , legendary London DJ Norman Scott, Jimmy Thomas of the Ike & Tina Turner review and Northern Soul hero, Jimmy James, Marcia Barrett from Bony M, Ebony Allayne, Danish record producer Søren Jensen, Leee (Imagination) John, Tammi Lavette plus the 350+ who came down especially for the night !
I'm hoping to put some photo's up at some point.
