| Hello, I am big fan of both Disco and Hard Rock music, and when the two genres come together I can't get enough. The problem is I've found this rarely happens, at least to my limited knowledge. I have come to the forum to ask if anyone out there can recommend some songs(or artists) to check out in which these two genres clash together. Some songs I'm referring to are songs like Fame(Irene Cara) or Games People Play(Alan Parsons Project). Songs that have that great sound and beat of disco, but also with blazing guitar solos and whatnot. Suggestions would be absolutely and greatly appreciated. Thank You. |

On Fire - T-Connection (hands down, the rockiest, most energetic disco track) Jump The Gun - Three Degrees (for the best disco stompin' metal guitar solo!) The Witch Queen album....specially their cover of Free's All Right Now The Skatt Brothers album (Fear of Flying rocks!) Do You Wanna Go Dancin' - Gary's Gang RRRRRRock - Foxy Rock Me - Cerrone (sounds a lot like Hot Stuff but it works for me!) Sleazy - Village People (think Twisted Sister here.....or rather Twisted Sisters!) and bestest of the bunch: Evolution - Giorgio Moroder (a must-have masterpiece!) |

| What about Material with Nona Hendryx "Bustin Out" or her fierce version of "Do What You Wanna Do" with the Cage? Also on Z/Island is Was(not was) "Wheel Me Out"- crunching, relentless and mesmorizing all at once! Thom |

| I'm not sure if you're looking for rock bands using the dance beat or just disco songs with a little rock edge. Stuff by Van Halen, like the song Jump, fall under the hard rock songs with a danceable beat. Then you got 'I Was Made For Lovin You' by KISS, 'Paradise Garage' by Tim Curry. Then you got earlier examples of stuff that is rock but with a funky groove that is somewhat danceable like Kid Dynamite's 'Uphill Peace of Mind' and a whole bunch of songs by the Isley Brothers featuring some smoking lead rock guitar, like Who's That Lady from '73, and Live It Up from '74. | Kid Brother's album from 1979 is real fun to listen to. Guitar solos and fast disco beat. Some real "Rosco" music. |
