I adore this song, and specially Bernard Edwards' bass. However, it seems at some parts of this video clip his fingers positions do not match what we're hearing. That and the music itself -a note-by-note repetition of the single edit- lead me to think they're lypsinc-ing.

To this day I guess the only "disco" artist I saw playing live at Musik Laden was James Brown. But they had some great live shows by rock artists, like Roxy Music.

This song is so wonderful! Imagine my surprise when I heard the bass line being sampled in Alcazar's "Sexual Guarantee"!

This song is also sampled on 'Sunshine & Happiness' by Darryl Pandy meets Nerio's Dubwork.

It is also sampled in last year's Shine by Luther Vandross.

And to add to that, they are two different songs.

Trivia note: Luther did vocals for Chic.

I didn't know this was released on 12" until earlier this year!!!!! Atlantic DSKO 207. Time 6'29. It starts with 'my love is forbidden, we keep our love hidden.' B side is 'what about me.'

That was awesome! Can NEVER hear that song too many times!

My favorite part of the clip was watching the ladies playing violin grooving to the beat! You just can't sit still to good disco music. And those strings are so beautiful.

I sit my 6 year old daughter and 4 year old son down on my knee in front the PC whenever I find good clips of disco acts like this one. I've been doing it since they were old enough to sit up on their own! I run the clip and show them how good the music is and how many different instruments are used to make such a beautiful, fun song. I teach them to appreciate not only the beat, but the artistry used to make such music. Then I find some piece of modern crap, or old hardcore rock song and show them the difference. I teach them, "See? This (disco) is GOOD music!" I sure hope it pays off one day!!!

The music Chic released on the first three albums was so perfectly "chic." Elegant and sexy production, lush arrangements, perfect beat neither too fast not too slow. Every time I play the first Chic album I am struck by how beautiful the orchestration is, how catchy the vocals are and how well the music had aged.

All CHIC singles were released in the UK on both 7" and 12" on the Atlantic label where the earlier catalogue numbers for the 12" had a (T) at the end. The version you mention must be a US import as the UK release was K11385(T). Nothing wrong with that as I recently picked up a pink vinyl 12" of 'I Want Your Love' and I'm thinking of having it locked away in a deep vault so that it is safe and secure. I just love my 12" CHIC vinyl singles - they are timeless and always give me a great feeling everytime I play them.
