Exclamation The BIG Boris Midney Poll!

The Russian godfather of Disco has released legendary stuff. Some of it is available on CD but wouldn't it be great if Boris should decide to release all his albums back again.

I know he reads the board on a daily basis, so why wouldn't we give him a helping hand.

The votes are open!

pretty tough to have to choose only 1, Boris Midney is by far one of my favorite producers, always thought outside of the box.

One of my most favorite as well; I was just listening to Come Into My Heart/Baby Love yesterday. He reminds me of a modern day, contemporary classical music composer only with modern technology at his disposal.

That's so right. If you compare his Star Wars' rendition to the one by Meco Monardo! Both are great but the Midney compositions are so much more adventurous and multi layered!

Personal pick: "Come Into My Heart" as it introduced us to the sound. Immaculately cut designer disco, ageless, timeless. I've recently spinned that and "Make That Feeling Come Again!" with a good powerful sound system to totally jaded urban crowd into trancey, electronic stuff, and it worked like magic.

I followed Jussik's lead and voted the same way for the same reasons ... a milestone record
(Caress would not be a wrong choice for me either)

Is this one good ??
Sure I have it tucked away somewhere (?) .....
..... saw a copy yesterday for $6-$7 but decided to do a pass on it .....mistake ???

Sort of caused me for a pause for a second while looking at it ...it being released on Prelude. How'd that happen?? I mean, when naming Prelude artists .....who's likely to throw in Boris Midney ??

Absolutely Remmy, vinyl of ol' Boris is rather rare (certainly over here) and it's a beautiful record. Perhaps more to enjoy while listening at home or in a lounge instead of the big floor but nevertheless recommendable!

I absolutely love most of Boris's stuff, especially USA-Euro Connection, Beautiful Bend & Caress but I cannot stand that Pinocchio record he did; don't know why but I find it irritating. Does anyone want to buy the Masquerade CD?
