Starsky, good idea for a thread. But if I'm a little confused. Do you want to know the member's favourite Disco sleeve or do you want them to pick their favourite label sleeve? As you are referiing to T.K. I think you are pointing at the labels. Right?

I'm going to jump in and assume you mean 12" sleeves with the label hole in the middle: Salsoul 12" sleeve version with sky and rainbows CBS/Epic with kissing lips Warner Bros-all versions TK of course.... Thom

Okay, then I go for this fine example of neo-classicism: Last edited by Bernie; May 6th, 2007 at 05:16 PM.

The original black "Salsoul Disco" was really nice, I always liked it much better than the re-design one with the clouds.

London Records in the US and Canada did a couple that I find particularly appealing.. I believe this is the one from London Records US. Aside from pix on the 'net, I've never actually come across any of these but I love the theme with the big lights and the colour scheme.. And there's this one from London Records Canada. I don't believe I've seen this on anything other than Canadian 12'' releases. I call it the "coked out disco lady." Last edited by Bernie; May 6th, 2007 at 05:17 PM.

Unfortunately, judging from what I've come across, London Canada seemed to use this sleeve: much more often than the coked out lady lol.. Anyway, overall London seemed to be a pretty big player in the disco market in Canada, so I'm sure there are many others, but so far I have three 12'' with the "coked out lady" sleeve: Claudja Barry - You Make Me Feel The Fire (1979, Lollipop/London - blue vinyl), Donald Lautrec - Come and Get Your Love (1980, London) also produced by Claudja Barry's producer, Jurgen Korduletsch.. and finally Eve John - Mutual Physical Attraction (1980, Foreign Exchange/London) which is the one pictured in the above post.. Hope this helps somewhat |
