DJ Vinnie Campisi Brings Disco Mixes to XM Radio and New York

Don't know if any of you guys caught this past weekend's Disco mixes on XM Radio's Chrome channel. My brother-in-law has XM in the car and we couldn't help commenting on how cool it was to hear great mixing of classic Disco on the radio again. The mixes are done by New York DJ Vinnie Campisi and he is really good with a great ear for the classics. Anyone else heard the mixshow on XM? What did you think?

Glad you were able to catch the show! (thanks to your bro-in-law!) What a great compliment coming from YOU! And YES, it is a weekly show...it's split up between me and 2 other DJ's (so far) every fri and sat nites - 10pm - 2am. My next shows are on april 13 and 14....gotta get those mixes in quick!
Bernie - BTW thanks for such a great website, alot of info and alot of memories, and alot of work for you. 20-30 years ago when Disco was King, we really didn't know that we would be missing all of this music, and now that we are we have a place to "find" it all and the DJ's that helped bring it to the masses. I'm just trying to do my part by bringing it back to NY, where it belongs. I play Disco Classics, which becomes a real fight to keep those live drummers on beat in the mix, and I play Disco House, alot easier to mix, and with much of the same Happy, Soulful feeling - but you still can't beat the Classics!
I enjoy collecting and playing the rare classics, the ones that were the real club music of the day, not the bad wedding classics that give it all a bad name - these are the tracks that really show off what was happening during that era. My next shows will be a bit more obscure - if i ever get them done!

Romeo...Sorry, and thanks but only on XM, but with the xm/sirius merger, you'll be able to get it when that happens.
Bernie...Thanks again for all the support and YES i am doing some club work. If you saw my bio, it's listed on your site in the DJ thing...I have 2 names. 1 name does alot of real House, tribal, electro stuff and alot of A-List celeb parties in NYC, but this name...DJ Vinnie Campisi is back to the old school, and under this name I'm doing a party in NYC in April. It's at a little (2 floors...little??) lounge on the lower east side called People, I'm going to be spinning Disco Classics, with Disco House, I think It's going to be pretty cool hearing the classics back in NYC.
BTW my next show on XM 83 Chrome, is Apr 13 and 14.

Just dropping a note to say more power to you from L.A!!!!
Wishing you lot's of success with your spot. And I agree, those are some great playlists. Can't wait to see/hear your more obscure sets. We've got a little Disco movement going on here that is gaining momentum. It's great to hear about any one doing something positive in keeping the Disco spirit alive! Wow, that's great!....I was considering turning off my XM, because you here the same music as free radio mulitplied by 1000....but now I will have to check out this new disco program, perhaps I'll hold on to XM for a while.
