Studio 54: Where you there?

I'm researching a documentary for the BBC about Studio 54. I wonder if any of you can help. I'm trying to get in touch with people who went to Studio 54 during its heyday. Did you go? Or do you know somebody else who did? If so, we'd like to interview you..

I went in 1979 and thought it was for old farts only. There were so much better discos in New York then for those who really loved to dance, not just pose and act like a snot.

James Hamilton, the Record Mirror resident soul/disco guru (RIP ) also went in 1979 & he said exactly the same as Jussi; he thought Paradise Garage was where it was at.

I went there from time to time in 80-81. Born and raised in NY made going to clubs easy. 54 was not my favorite, but it was fun. The DJ's were top notch, and the light show was one of the best. Most of the people there were flying at around 4,000 feet (if you know what i mean). In 79 the people my have been older, but in the 80's the club was loosing it's popularity with the older crowd and gave way to younger less snobby people. I allways had a soft spot in my heart for the Limelight, the old church feel made that place mystical.
