Disco music of the 1970s-1980s for DJs & record collectors
Discussion on 1000 Paradise Garage Classics 1976-1987 within the Disco Music of the 70s and 80s forums, part of the General Music Discussions at DiscoMusic.com category; Here is a list of tracks that Levan played at the Garage. It's quite useful to have when buying records; ...

| Did your eyes glaze over and did you start to go into La La Land after #379 or thereabouts? If these are his top 1000 picks, then one would have to question his taste. If these are 1000 of the many 1000s he played as a DJ then you'd have to say.....so what? Hundreds or even thousands of DJs around the world probably played most of the self same records (and I suspect, some much better ones too). Very few from the '70s compared to the '80s, why? Am I the only person who finds these lists a somewhat bizarre concept? |

| All inaccurracies aside, for someone like me, who loves the music but wasn't quite old enough to experience many of these songs 1st hand, too young to get into the clubs back then

| I thought there was a lot of very ordinary stuff on the list .Off the top of my head i can think of some tracks i consider essential that are not on it. Diana Ross - "No One Gets The Prize" & ŁThe Boss". Mary Jane Girls - "All Night Long" B.B. & Q Band - "On The Beat" Jocelyn Brown "Somebody Elses Guy" I've only had a quick look through the list but there's probably a hell of a lot more tracks that are far better than those featured on the list. |

| It is lists like these that have made me go out and see what disco songs I've never heard of, and in the time I've done this, I've heard some interesting and, most importantly, wonderful music.

My 1st post on here was asking someone to identify "Malaguena" And I have raided the vaults, not to mention tracked down songs from the lists on here(Top 500, Top 700.....) which just goes to prove my point, Lists are Good!...

| It is a decent list - but no list will ever satisfy everyone. I was surprised to see it seem to be more 80's oriented than 70's, but I admit I didn't study the list all that closely. I do agree that if it gets this music out there to younger listeners who never heard some of it, than by all means - list away! |

| I witnessed him spin "Numbers" by Kraftwerk at the Garage and thought this is getting pretty cool now - but it cleared the floor. What was going on |
