| Here is a list of tracks that Levan played at the Garage. It's quite useful to have when buying records; I often ask myself: yeah, that record is good, but did Levan play it? Anyhow, let me know what you think of the list - I lifted it from Jahsonic.com, which is a choice website.

| Did your eyes glaze over and did you start to go into La La Land after #379 or thereabouts? If these are his top 1000 picks, then one would have to question his taste. If these are 1000 of the many 1000s he played as a DJ then you'd have to say.....so what? Hundreds or even thousands of DJs around the world probably played most of the self same records (and I suspect, some much better ones too). Very few from the '70s compared to the '80s, why? Am I the only person who finds these lists a somewhat bizarre concept? |

| All inaccurracies aside, for someone like me, who loves the music but wasn't quite old enough to experience many of these songs 1st hand, too young to get into the clubs back then

| I thought there was a lot of very ordinary stuff on the list .Off the top of my head i can think of some tracks i consider essential that are not on it. Diana Ross - "No One Gets The Prize" & £The Boss". Mary Jane Girls - "All Night Long" B.B. & Q Band - "On The Beat" Jocelyn Brown "Somebody Elses Guy" I've only had a quick look through the list but there's probably a hell of a lot more tracks that are far better than those featured on the list. |

| It is lists like these that have made me go out and see what disco songs I've never heard of, and in the time I've done this, I've heard some interesting and, most importantly, wonderful music.

My 1st post on here was asking someone to identify "Malaguena" And I have raided the vaults, not to mention tracked down songs from the lists on here(Top 500, Top 700.....) which just goes to prove my point, Lists are Good!...

| It is a decent list - but no list will ever satisfy everyone. I was surprised to see it seem to be more 80's oriented than 70's, but I admit I didn't study the list all that closely. I do agree that if it gets this music out there to younger listeners who never heard some of it, than by all means - list away! |

| I witnessed him spin "Numbers" by Kraftwerk at the Garage and thought this is getting pretty cool now - but it cleared the floor. What was going on |

| Although I have collected disco records since 1978 and also having been to the Garage a few times in 84/85. I have found lists like this great in latter years to identify some stuff I had forgotten, or was not even aware of because they may not have hit the UK at the time. So for younger Guys I'm guessing they are invaluable. best wishes all Z |

| Ha! Good to see that people are liking the list and not quibbling over its minor innacuracies like that guy Quinny. It really is a valuable tool and I hope that all who check it out get something out of it! The Boogie Doctor |

A list is only a valuable tool if it gives you some idea as to the merits of each track....otherwise, it's just a list. Why do the words 'tomato ketchup' mean anything on a shopping list? It's because you know exactly what the words mean and you know you like it with certain foods. If you had no idea whether it was good, bad, toxic, harmless, sweet, sour, red, green or whatever, the words have much less reason to make you wanna buy some. You might want to explore this delight, but then not knowing which brand was worth the effort you might just pick up the most awful crap that has ever been given the monicker, but at least you tried it. I luvs me my HEINE tomato ketchup.....NOT. |
