Default Nightmare Remakes

I just read Jeff's comment speculating that he'd rather listen to Ethel Merman singing the much-maligned "Love Shack" than listen to Amanda Lear drone through "Lili Marleen"....so I'm conjuring up other "Nightmare Remakes" --real or imaginary....

Hmmmm, what about Enemaman "coming-out" with Carl Bean's proudly gay-anthem "I Was Born This Way"???

Or N-Sync white-boy soiling The Trammps? Christina mangling Gloria Gaynor? Limp Bizkit screaming through "I was Made For Loving You"? Teeeen-grrrrl of the moment Avril Lavigne snarling Blondie's "Heart Of Glass"?

Or, conversly, a retread comeback for Wayne Newton ("Instant Replay"), Tony Orlando ("Do Ya Wanna Get Funky With Me"), Anita Bryant ("A-Freak-A"), Steve & Eydie ("Shine On Silver Moon" or "The Two Of Us"???)???

Well, you get the picture....or DO YOU??? We'll see.

Yoko Ono records a Lime tribute CD...Danny Tenaglia remixes Yoko's version of "Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonite" sampling Ethel Merman yelps from Ethel's Disco LP. The Klub Kidz swear off Ecstasy....listening to this record on E or X or even K starts turning them into young Republicans. Oh, the HORROR!!!

To return the favor, Denyse Lepage (Mrs. Lime) records Yoko's "Walking On Thin Ice" and samples Yoko herself & Ethel Merman alternating on the classic yelps : (iye..iye...iye...iye...iye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

Through the wonders of modern technology, Enemaman samples the legendary Denyse/Yoko/Merm teaming as the Dido-esque chorus to his new "I killed Kim Basinger and stuffed her in the trunk of my car with that other Kim" song. He wins the Grammy. He's a genius, ya know. Moby's posse attempts to driveby Enemaman after the Grammy's, but they can't see well enough through their Poindexter glasses to actually get off a good shot. They go have a veggie burger instead.

Hey, it could happen.
