| I just went to France Joli's website: France Joli . net She disappeared, and has been replaced with gay porn (not that there's anything wrong with that.) She always had a marginal website. Then it was updated with song samples. Very nicely done. Then it all disappeared. I checked FranceJoli.com. I think she might have the name registered. But it's currently under construction. Even Donna Summer's website went thru long periods without being updated. She revamped the site about a year or so ago. Much better now. But I still can't believe how Donna, France, and other disco legends under-utilize the Internet. I feel like calling France Joli up and offering to design a website for her for free, just so she'll have a presence on the web (not that I have her phone number.) There's so much these artists could do to connect with their fans and promote themselves. What gives?

| francejoli.net was the work of a fan. Maybe she quit (I can't imagine that she was told to stop as she always delivered a good site)! Even on Myspace there's not an official FJ page so maybe some stars don't rate the net so high as we do. But maybe the success of Web 2.0 has had some backlash (people pretending to be the real stars) so that the genuine artists are reclaiming their copyright back. So is Prince! I've been in close contact with the entourage and they are simply fed up that so much people are opening sites on behalf of his name. That's why their legal team is sending mails and letters to stop it! As for France: she deserves a worthy site as she is 1 of THE Discostars. Keep us noticed if something comes up! (and I don't mean after seeing the gay porn!) |

| I didn't realize FranceJoli.net was the work of a fan. I really liked the song samples on there. (Maybe the song samples prompted the closing of the site?) I think these artist sites could post more interviews. And I'm sure someone like France Joli would have a great selection of photos from all the phases of her career. And news about upcoming appearances, cd releases, new projects, etc. So much comes down to management. Well managed artists have great sites. But many artists flounder. It helps to have a team behind you.
