Just got back from New York for a week and ran into a friend who says there is a multistage Disco party underway for next year October 7-2007 featuring Cerrone..any truth to the rumour!!

Should one go, should one stay away? How will New Yorkers react to a celebration of disco, music that ruled their city 30 years ago? The thing is New York sure ain't the place it used to be and judging by reactions witnessed during a couple of disco-themed events a few years back, it's citizens are not much into the sound either. Could be Rogers and Cerrone will update the sound with rap which will be crap, could be it'll rain and there'll be nobody there, could be it'll be a cloudless night but New Yorkers, unlike Parisians, just don't give a damn about disco. Or it could be a massive success. On the other hand, can't help to wonder how many young people in New York know who Cerrone is?

These days Cerrone is mostly known as organiser and concepter of big events maybe that will attract the crowds. And he's clever enough to put Nile Rodgers on the bill!

I gotta believe that "If you build it they will come." Every tiny little disco party I've put together drew people out of the woodwork. I never realized how fondly people remember those times, people of whom I never would have guessed it!
New York is chilly in October, but I want to be there!
