| Is the word punter a British expression? I have never heard it used to refer to dancers or club patrons until it's use in these forums. It's a term that seems more approproiate for the football field than the discoteque. DJ, play something we can punt to. Honey, let's go out punting tonight. Just askin' |

"a paying customer or audience member. Essentially, one who is part of the regular classes." More specifically, in certain circles it could also mean a customer of a prostitute, or someone who wagers bets. It appears that a punter may also be a 'regular Joe', or 'one of the masses' in American slang too? We have used the term many times before in the discussion forums. The Quinnmeister IS back! |

| I've seen that term in the liner notes of British northern soul compilations exclusively. I think the 2 definitions Quinny gave hit the nail on the head. The British has wind screens; and us Americans have wind shields. And foremost, good to have you back Quinny! I missed you man!!!! |
