Talking Disco Never Died

Hi my name is Rich. And as far as I'm concerned it never died. At parties for family and freinds who thought "disco sucked" I would ALWAYS be asked to bring my records, because ours was the music that got a party started. I think that there were more people that liked our music than admitted because they either couldn't dance or dress properly. Even the dance music today has the their foundations built on disco classics. Disco might of faded a little but it NEVER DIED.

it certainly never died in my house or in my music collection and when you consider how crappy most music is now, disco is better than ever.

Disco died when people stopped using real instruments to play dance music.. which occurred around 1981... at least I haven't found any examples with a real orchestra after that date...

Dance music made electronically is not Disco as far as I'm concerned...

You're right. It is not disco.
It is euro-DISCO.
It is italo-DISCO.
It is hi-nrg-DISCO.
It is electronic-DISCO.

I thought those styles weren't disco.
But I spot the word disco in your 'new' definitions.
So it seems they are disco... or else you could have said:

EURO DISCO is EURO-wanna-be-cheapo-imitation-rock
ITALO DISCO is ITALO-wanna-be-cheapo-imitation-punk-with-garlic
HI-NRG is HI-NRG-wanna-be-cheapo-imitation-metal-with-caffeine
ELECTRONIC DISCO is ELECTRONIC-wanna-be-cheapo-imitation-grunge-with-headache
LOL

Disco never ever died,it may have mutated into different genres such as Italo,Hi-nrg,and Euro, but i think its been all the richer for that..Donna Summers Now i need you is a glorious piece of electronic disco, never fails to move me with its rythum and powerfull beats..i still dj occasionally and when i play this and other glorious disco tracks the reaction is always great..

So lets celebrate Disco in all its forms and may it live on forever..

Gaz..
