Unhappy Underrated: Pete Bellotte!

I can't help bringing this up. a lot of people here start threads or post on Giorgio Moroder and, of course, the man was BIG in Disco but let's not forget that GM quit Disco in a early stage to start bringing out Electro stuff and records that were bestsellers but IMHO lacked the Disco magic.

Now, his brother in arms
Pete Bellotte
gets less recognition as far as I am concerned. Although he was part of the great Scene and kept on releasing very good Disco stuff, even when GM had divorced him.

-Marathon
-Gonzalez
-Marsha Hunt
-Melba Moore
-Stainless Steel
-Steve Bender
-Trax

So, cheers Petey and thank you for the music!

And Giorgio too, of course:

I think Pete Bellotte's solo productions are totally underrated too... I really love the albums he did for Melba Moore and Marsha Hunt. Even the LP he did for Elton John had some good moments. Though I could do without the disco version of the Can-Can, side 2 of Stainless Steel is one of my faves from him.. Aside from the Euro disco element, I liked how his productions seem to have elements of rock, jazz and other styles in the mix.

Moroder was definitely the more groundbreaking of the two, but I certainly think Pete deserves some recognition of his own..

Wow that's weird video, I was playing Marsha Hunt's 'Other Side Of Midnight' earlier this evening (I haven't played it for ages) & I thought to myself how you don't hear much about Mr.Bellotte! There's something psychic going on here.
