Got kinda hooked by their "Magic Mandrake". A record that I picked up in a second handstore a few weeks ago and that has a nice "People's Choice" vibe to it.

But who are they? Can't find much info on this group!

Remmy, can you believe me when I say that I'm a great fan of the Nude- and Sexcoverart but that this 1 doesn't work for me?

"Magic Mandrake" was a big local record at the time, i was always under the impression they were Italian ?

The Sarr Band and Diablolical Soul Invention - are they the same studio group? I got a Spanish album by the former which contains "Mefisto", the great demon rape disco track, realesed on a 12" and credited to the latter. The "Abascor" - or something like that, the typo is difficult to read - lounge/disco/personal hygiene instruction (tips for teens about menstruation and the evils of masturbation, etc) cd contains the Mefisto tune and claims it's from Italy.

jerry bonham turned me on to the UK 12". i was first attacted to "double action" and initially thought "magic mandrake" was kinda silly, but now i strangely prefer it. the timing of this pressing is totally inflated — my technics timed them at 3:31 and 4:41 respectively. those numbers don't look so good on a 12" label.

Mephisto is on ethe 'B'side of my UK pressing. We've discussed this record before and didn't get very far with it then. The chick's accent is very thick, but from which part of the continent I just don't know.
