Default Pamala Stanley

I found her recently released disco-era compilation and new album at Welcome to Pamala Stanley.com!. I bought the compilation and it takes me back! I love ''This Is Hot'' from 70s and ''I Don't Want To Talk About It'' & ''Coming Out Of Hiding'' from 80s, all of which were popular at disco in Japan back then. Unfortunately she didn't release CDs from 90s on so much, but I was happy to find them at the site. Anyone please share your information and memories about Pamala:razz:.

Great singer. I have not heard anyhting by Pamela from the 70`s but I do have her 80s recordings. I also have a track she did called "RHIANNON" a cover of the Stevie Nicks song. (?)

Thank you Energyguy. Yeah, Rhiannon is a beautiful song, too.

Regarding the new greatest hits CD: are any of these the extended version? I bought a collection by Pamela Stanley years ago, and the songs were mainly the single versions - for example, "This is Hot!" is less than 4 minutes.

Thanks for any info...

Here is Pamala Stanley's debut LP from 1979, should you need any more information.

I was playing the 1979 Lp a lot a couple weeks ago. WOW! The title track was so ahead of its time...Clearly could have been from the mid 80's when you compare to the hiNRG tracks that were popular around that time. "This is Hot" was lliving on my turntable for days.
Was the remix or original cut of "If Looks Could Kill" used on the CD? The original version was 5:03 minutes long but the remix was longer.

I highly recommend that everyone order this CD. These are not single edits AND a DVD is added free of charge! This is a quality DVD with an extended interview, the original video for "Coming Out of Hiding" in 5.1 surround sound. There are also promo videos for "This Is Hot" and other songs from her first album. There are clips of perfomances on "Dance Fever" as well as her opening show for a Tina Turner concert in 1982. There is even a live performance video of Pamala Stanley and Paul Parker. These are full length
performances and not clips. A lot of time and energy was put into making this video collection - not to mention that it is free with the CD. "If Looks Could Kill", "Coming Out of Hiding", "I Don't Want to Talk About It", "This is Hot" and many more are featured (multiple versions of each). Barbosa and Liggett (Shannon) originally produced "If Looks Could Kill" but their version was replaced in favor of the Stanley-produced cut. I would love to hear the original; although, I love the existing version. This story came from the interview which was very informative and enjoyable. Ms. Stanley is really down-to-earth and mindful of her fans.

When James Hamilton reviewed Pamela's 'This Is Hot' in 'Record Mirror in '79 he described it as sounding like Mary Hopkin singing a Donna Summer record! I like her records but her voice does sound more like a folk singer at times than a disco diva.
