| hello discopeople! when irma jackson's "you will forget" appeared on the top 500, i suggested that it might be a bogus vote because not only did i not know it, i also couldn't find any info on the web about it besides the fact that "irma jackson" was the title of a merle jackson country song about falling in love with a woman of color. when someone (i now forget who  ) mentioned that it showed up in a search at a overseas record seller, i immediately got busy and managed to buy it! it finally arrived and i'm listening to it now. the song sounds like a french romantic ballad that was accellerated and disco-fied. the vocalist seems to be racing to get all the words into the appropriate phrases. she has one of those classic super-powerful-yet-refined disco diva voices, and at first i thought it might be gloria gaynor singing under a pseudonym! after playing it again, i think it's one of those singers that appear on a lot of disco albums without much credit, like Madeline Bell (of Space fame). i didn't measure the BPMs yet, but i would guess they're in the 130 range. the copy i bought is on WEA International, and i would guess that this is a german pressing. the picture sleeve is nothing but the name and title on a bright fuscia background. the label credits read "Produced by Y.D.P.R. Philadelphia U.S.A. Pls Read Philadelphia Licenced by M.M. Records Paris" no date is listed, but i would imagine this was released in 1979 or 1980. i have a feeling that it wasn't released in america if anyone has any more info on this record, please share! thanks, barry |

| Barry, Would you give this record your recommendation? I went looking for it, and found it, when no one gave Bernie any info but I didn't buy it for the same reason. There was no info available other than the title and artist. Play it for a few days and tell us if it still sounds like a revved-up ballad.

| I'm now pretty sure Irma Jackson is Viola Wills singing under an alias. |
