Even I managed to vote!! :D

I chose the year that I got into the disco scene - 1977. A truly great year for the music!

Default My vote

Well it was a tough decision between 1974, 1975 and 1976 as I love the early days of disco the best but I choose 1975 because disco and funk were absolutely fused together (my favourite style :D ) and there was a lot of contemporary experimental disco happening in the mid 70's too. There was a lot happening that year for the disco and funk industry. Plus I've downloaded a shitload of rare disco/funk MP3s from 1975 and have quite a number of disco and funk records from 1975.

My favourite years of disco is from 1973-1977.

1978. Spring/Summer '78 was a period of outstanding product (unfortunately much of it forgotten due to a glut). 1979 would have been my second choice.

I picked 1978 because that's the year I really started incorporating what we call here in the US, "EuroDisco", along with my other stuff. I wasn't really into it before but a quick love affair developed. A strong love affair when playing it got me my gig at The Anvil. :D

I arbitrarily picked 1975--cause that's when I moved to SF --and became VERY aware of DISCO. There were a lot of great records released that year and I feel very nostalgic when I hear them. Also, when I voted for the Top 500, I ignored this era...so felt I needed to pay my props.

I don't think anyone who votes necessarily is required to post a messages as well.....they come on....click - submit and log off!

I first formerly got into disco - as I remember it - in 1974 but I chose 1979 as it was the year that I got into the record company biz and it is the year that I tried to psyche myself into believing all of this great kind of music will go on forever....1979 is the year that I want to hold onto....similar to 1929 before the crash.....

I could not vote if I didn't reply the post.
When I first enter in the post there's no way to vote, only if I click on reply, then after writing the reply, I can vote. Am I wrong?

Not a Hard Choice 79
the time we were all hoping for the best decade ever

instead we got
the corportate world
and AIDS
and most sadess of all the Death of Disco

much thanks to
MJ, DS, Cerrone and others......

Like I Odyssey we should keep it close to the roots
79 was about disco exploiting the world
the 80's was about the world exploiting disco
