Didn't know if everybody here knew this or not...but were you aware that Vanity of Vanity 6 was a GUY?????

I was watching a show on HBO about porn conventions when they cut away to a guy that was ranting and raving and going on a bout this porn star. He said, "I don't care....this chick is HOT! man! I mean TOTALLY hot." Then there were a few more guys going on and on as well. Then they cut away to the girl who they were talking about, and I heard one guy say, "C'mon Vanity! Take it off." By golly, it WAS Vanity, and she's doing porn now. The other guys started prompting her as well, so she undid the tie on her robe, and quickly flashed the camera. I'll be DAMNED if she didn't have a penis and testes! I was totally shocked, as I had worked in gay bars for YEARS and always thought I could tell a drag queen from a mile off. But, this was a total shocker for me!

Prince always had a reputation of bedding the chicks who's records he produced. What's this say about him? (Like it's a suprise!)

I guess she doesn't really need that 7" inches or more...she's got her own!!!!!

I'm not sure who you saw on that HBO show, but according to the IMDB, Vanity is Denise Matthews who is a born again Christian and very involved in Christian ministries.

I have never seen anything that would indicate that Vanity was not female either. I also have seen Vanity interviewed on TV talking about her being more religious (i am pretty sure it did discuss being born again, but that was a while ago).

Well, there is a possibility that this was a Vanity Look-Alike, but it sure looked like the real vanity to me. It even sounded like her. Tho, don't you think if this were a knock-off of a real religious Vanity, that she would be appaled enough as to take this imposter to court for using her name?? It would be one thing for this person to call herself Deneise Richards, but wouldn't you think that the name Vanity has some sort of copyright?

I suppose everyone has the right to change their mind, but with song titles and content like "Nasty Girl" and a Motown song I think she sung..."You Made A Pretty Mess of My Dress", I think she had her sexuality hanging out there anyway...pun intended.

I worked in a bar that had drag shows back in the mid 80's, and one of the performers, Tracy Adams, was a DEAD RINGER for Elizabeth Taylor. She used to lip sync to a lot of classic Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight material.

Just the mere thought of seeing Elizabeth Taylor singing "Freeway Of Love" with her "Midnight Train" hangin' out makes my head ache!!!!!!

True, but she didn't really write any of those songs, did she? "Nasty Girl" is a Prince song through and through. Vanity 6 was simply a front for his ideas.

For anyone who owns the maxi single of nasty girl, a close look at the picture leaves not much doubt about her sex.

Denise is an evangelist for Pure Hearts Ministries and has broken with her past as Vanity, although she never denies that part of her life. She became a Born Again Christian after a serious illness that almost cost her life.
