Default Thanks For The YouTube Threads!

On behalf of those who enjoy seeing these vids, many thanks to you, Video.
It's too bad the writing is on the wall, and the majority of these will be gone in the near future. I mentioned in another thread that the J-Pop videos are also disappearing quickly.
I wonder what the "next Youtube" will be?

Hi Johan,

I also want to say thanks for all the great videos you've posted especially considering all the time and effort you've devoted in tracking them all down and sharing them with everyone. I've seen a few posters, who rarely contribute anything useful, denounce or ridicule your efforts, but they are not important. Please don't let them get under your skin. If they don't like it they don't have to read or watch them.

Your video threads, as your other posts, have inspired a lot of discussions and brought everyone back to the past to some happy times. thanks again!

So who is removing these videos? Is it the record companies finding their copyrighted products? Or who? Why do they disappear all of a sudden??

I watched around 40 Diana Ross videos over there one day--wouldn't Motown have disappeared them in one fell swoop if they cared--and I imagine they would??? So is it a matter of they take it down and someone new puts it up again???

Bernie, Boodikka and many others,

Thx for the appreciation. To some others:

I've watched the views on the vid-threads and they mostly were very satisfying. People could discuss the artists whilst having a glimpse and hearing their best songs. Maybe some members discovered some good things they weren't aware of. I did by analysing YT and reading other member's posts. So, isn't that what this board is all about?

Now the criticism! Yes, I opened many threads but sometimes me and my wife were posting them from the moment they appeared online. We are in close contact with the YT-community where there's also clips from us on the funfair. They never asked my permission you know. According to Belgian laws I could trace 'em and sue 'em coz' they place my image without my permission but I see it as good publicity since the clips are well done.

As for the music-vids, we knew very good what was going to happen after YT came under fire from the majors.

For some vids, you had to be very quick before almost instant removal. Now, since I don't have the power to remove threads from this board, I couldn't delete them. Result, some threads are there without a vid to watch. Too bad, but that's life. And the quantity: I was pissed off with the stupid remarks from NRGbeat and Zef. That's why I hit back with the large amount of "This Is Disco"-stuff. Maybe it was not one of my best ideas lately. But, if you hit me , I'll hit you back and harder then you might have expected. The other threads were discussion-topics and they worked, didn't they? People shared their views on an artist, gave extra info and brought something to this board.

So as far for YT:Nothing comes for free and I'm already amazed that some stuff stayed online that long.

Disco Funk: Honestly, I don't know if some were axed after we placed their link here. Maybe Bernie knows better, he usually knows the persons behind the nicknames. I've noticed that a lot (who were on my list) are gone too without being published here so, big question mark on your thesis! Midnight Special and Soul Train stuff were tricky, but then again, why are some gone and others are not? But you can be right! Maybe some Discobosses are checking the board for this. (but mostly only the vids of 1 poster there got axed, so I think they were already watching him. I know more but that's confidential)

Marky: at this moment YT is on the verge of a legal battle. They are not sued yet but it could happen. The big publicity around YT came after Google bought it and queqtions were raised in the press about the royalties. Warners and Sony BMG have already teamed up with YT, so a vast majority of the clips will return or stay online. Maybe the other copyright-owners are just waiting for a (deserved) piece of the cake.

And for Spellbound: I'm sorry. The guy attacks everybody here, has an offensive avatar (which already explains his ridiculous attitude) and from time to time comes in to stir things up. In fact, he's one of the most narrow-minded posters on this board. His taste is the only genuine and if some people dare to publish something he doesn't like, he performs a pathetic Hit and Run. I'm really not spending my time anymore on such a guy!

For all the people who liked and supported them: BIG THX but I'm sorry, it's finished, I've had it.

Let's see what the criticasters gonna offer you. I hope they'll put on to the big expectations they've now created.

Guyz/Girlz,

It was fun over the last years. We met many great people here. Now it's time to go.

Have a great time and take care!

Johan & Nicole

Now you hold on a minute there Mr Johan (you too Miss Nicole, I didn't know you were part of this8) ), what do you mean it's time to go?
I'm not even sure why you would pay attention to some guys who are bitchin'. Like Bernie said, you add a lot to the board. When you bring something you always risk pissing somebody off (where is Quinny by the way :D ), but that's life.
Basically what I'm saying is get your ass back in here soldier!

Wow, talk about a big decision. We're all going to lose. I really like your threads.

What we need is an "Ignore" button. So we can click and ignore some members.

Please reconsider and if not, Well, Thanks a million times for the memories you gave me back ;)

To My Friend,

Luv Trojan Horse
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIhb6BHjQCk

You came in through the door - like the Trojan Horse
you came onto the floor - like the Trojan Horse
You looked around and saw me, but your eyes remained the same.
But soon you would show more - like the Trojan Horse

La, la, la...

Come on, now,
one - two - three, you're gonna dance with me
one - two - three - four - five,
you say I'll be your wife
you move a little fast, now wait a little while
if you want to last, you show a little style.

The gates are not yet opened, so the horse cannot come in.
When you tell a happy story,
the beginning you begin.
Come on, now,
one - two - three, you're gonna dance with me
one - two - three - four - five, you say I'll be your wife.
You got to take your time - like the Trojan Horse.
Don't know what's on your mind - like the Trojan Horse.
You came, you saw, you conquered, but you move a little fast.
You made your plan just fine - like the Trojan Horse.

La, la, la ...

Come on, now,
one - two - three, you're gonna dance with me
one - two - three - four - five,
you say I'll be your wife
you move a little fast, now wait a little while
if you want to last, you show a little style.

The gates are not yet opened, so the horse cannot come in.

Come on, now,
one - two - three, you're gonna dance with me
one - two - three - four - five,
you say I'll be your wife.

Come on, now,

Don't let it be 1982 again; the year it was gone for good.

Johan: sooner or later you'll be needed up there behind the Technics, so if your address changes make sure to notify Aicha. You KNOW the beat is too strong to resist.

Stay Video, stay.

I was one of the posters thanking you for the many memories. Even without the video you stir many warm thoughts about that great time.
