Have any of the UK members ordered from Amazon? I ordered stuff in July & they were despatched 6 weeks ago but I still havent received anything. Is this a normal time to wait? Am I being impatient here?

I once ordered a record, from a shop in the US that I'd done business with in the past, and was dismayed when it didn't arrive after four weeks. I had previously received items from them in less than two weeks, and they claimed to have shipped it out the day after I ordered it.

Two weeks later, just as I was about to give up hope, it finally arrived. Apparently it had been first sent to Uganda. I can just picture two guys at the US Post Office "Got a package here to go to some place called Canada. Where the heck is Canada?" "Uganda? Lemme check... oh, it's in eastern Africa." It's pretty amazing it arrived at all, given how far off-course it got sent.

Anyway, to get back to the question at hand -- if it's surface mail, 6 - 8 weeks is normal. Airmail, it shouldn't take more than 3 weeks.

Interestingly enough, I usually receive packages shipped by airmail from the UK in 5 - 8 business days. Meanwhile, packages shipped by airmail from places in the US that are only a few hours drive away take 12 - 18 business days. Go figure...
